Love Is Like a Glass Splinter

You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of amour, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life. You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t yours anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like “Maybe we should be just friends” turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. For this contest I picked Axl Rose. He is the singer of the band Guns N' Roses, and I picked him because I feel that since the breakup of the original lineup of Guns N' Roses he has gotten a lot of negative feedback. I also picked him because he was abused as a child, has suffered with addictions and a lot of heartbreak. He is and will always be one of my idols, he is an amazing singer and performer,and puts everything he's got into everything he does.
