The Life of a Teenager

The Carving I Etch

Snow covered logs
In my backyard
The beautiful trees
Have shed their leaves
And sometimes I wonder
Why, when lightening comes thunder
And sometimes it seems
That too complex are my dreams

My footprint
in the desert sand
White and gray pebbles
The air of today's rebels
I never knew it mattered
If everything around me shattered
Thought I'd still be there, makes me think
I could be gone, in just a blink

The wave
flips over itself
I crave
To be one hung on the wall, not dropped on the shelf
No one seems to understand my meaning
It's quite alright, as long as I'm achieving
The goals in my life are far-fetched
No comparison, though, to the carving I etch
