The Life of a Teenager

Living Contradiction

I write words of inspiration, but speak words of sadness
I make goals of motivation, but accomplish only failures
I strive to be a hero, but I'm living as a villain
What do you do when you're hovering between two worlds?

You look up and see who you want to be
You look back and see who you used to be
You look to the left and see who you are now
You look to your right to see how you can move forward

Every side is constantly pulling at you
You have become many people in one soulless body

You're hanging; shackles on your wrists and feet
Pulling you in different directions
The only thing holding you together are false promises you make yourself
And unaccomplished goals of damaged dreamer

Where do we gather our strength to break free
When do I accomplish my goals and move on from my failures
When do my spoken words express inspiration and not sadness
When do I become my own hero, and stop sabotaging myself

Why do I live as a contradiction, and not as a dream to be
Is my life a question that has no answer
Or am I the answer to the question that has not been asked
