The Life of a Teenager

I tried to hide
Behind the shadows,
off to the side
deep in my own meadows.
I tried to shade
my hearts desire
But now I've made
my heart fill with mire.
I would cut
The blood so clear
Forgetting the rut
Creating my fear.
I tried to hide,
But I made it worse
in my head I would reside
Living a life I had to rehearse.
Now I can no longer pretend
I have been sniffed out
My brain is now condemned
My idle heart bums about.
My dreams are swept
Pushed to the side.
From the secrets I kept,
from the truths I would hide.
