Fighting The Storm
Maybe it's not my weekend, but it's gonna be my year
The bus driver had long stopped in Huntington Beach, Crystal was stuck, she didn't know where anything was. It has indeed, been three days since she's been here, and she has been to afraid to call her 'father' again. She wanted to so bad, but what if he thought she was just a creepy person, stalking him? She didn't want him to think that. Crystal had been walking around for two of the days she's been in Huntington Beach, and she was growing tired and exhausted. She walked many people, even by a beach or two. She was amused by all of the people who crowded around the beach, and then how empty it had become during the night time.
A small sigh escaped her lips as she flipped through the contacts in her phone, attempting to find Jame's number. Maybe she could try one more time, and if he hung up on her, she'd give up. She pressed the green talk button and pressed the phone to her ear. She stopped walking and moved off to the side of the side walk, her back pressing onto a brick building.
"Hello?" The voice was different, it sounded rough, not like the one she had heard before.
"I...Is James Sullivan there?" She asked, her small voice could be barley heard over the loud laughter on the other end of the line.
"Sure! One second kid" The guy said. She heard some yelling, and everything on the other end went silent.
"James here, who's this?" She felt the tears in her eyes once more, but shook them off.
"M...My name is Crystal..." She took a long pause, and sighed, a quiet sob escaping her throat, "I'm your daughter" She choked out.
James sighed on the other end of the phone, he sounded relieved.
"Shit. What do I say to that?" he questioned.
The phone made this noise, and she heard someone else speak into the phone, "Hey... I'm Leana... Jame's girlfriend. I was wondering if you'd like us to come get you? I'm sure we can sort everything out in person, can't we?" A girl asked.
"Sure.... I don't know where Iam though" Crystal muttered into the phone.
"Have you passed by any beach recently?" She asked.
"Sandy beach" Crystal responded, she pushed off the wall and began to walk back where she came from.
"Alright, I'll come pick you up from there? That sound good?" The female asked. Crystal agreed they'd meet at Sandy beach.
It was only five minutes later, Crystal herself arrived there, fiddling with her fingers, People looked at her as she walked into the parking lot and stood there, waiting.
