Keep the Faith

Numbness. Tension. They managed to enter my being. Not able to see something out there made me want to jump up the stage and explore the unseen place. I faced my fellow mates, they smiled at me. I so knew that we could do this…
However, something was missing though. I needed to hear something….
My heart began to pound faster. Blood rushed through my veins faster that seemed like they were gliding inside me. The tension left me alone. Confidence grew and replaced its place. I was not nervous, nor angry. Someone was waiting for me, many were waiting for us, and they were calling out our names.
I entered the stage, the unfamiliar breeze tried to sneak into my jacket. I didn’t care. I raised my hand up, as our tune came filling the place. My hand started to sway on the air, urging them to do the same. My hand never felt tired, for they were following me.
I talked to them. I spoke what I genuinely believed about everything. I never felt intimidated because I knew they were listening.
I started shouting at them, chanting words repeatedly. I wanted to hear them, my voice pleading for a response. I then heard a coarse faint reply of a multitude, their voices trying to pierce through the speakers’ sound. I smiled to myself, they were listening to me.
My hands started to clap. I raised them up and made the bit faster. My ears felt content as the sounds of clasping and slamming hands reached them. I never felt discouraged, they were cheering for me, for us.
Everything has an end. It felt hard for us to turn our backs from the crowd after singing our last song, our lullaby song.
“WE ARE MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!” came out from my mouth. We finally turned away from them and ended the show. I stayed like that for awhile, my head looking up. My eyes met those blinding lights up above. I then glanced at the crowd again and grinned.
They’ll be right behind us, keeping us safe and alive.
My mind thought of something. It was something that we always wanted to happen. I whispered, gratefully to myself;
“We will still continue, they will still follow us.”
