Penguin Madness
Chapter 8 (still written by Emma!!!!!)
Emma:
Fredina led Bob down a dark and very narrow tunnel (not to be confused with the steep and very narrow stairway in the musical 'A Chorus Line') and into an underground chamber.
A massive, underground chamber.
With lots of other dark and very narrow tunnels presumably leading to more massive, underground chambers.
This one was filled with hamsters. Lots of them. All of which had chain collars around their necks. Some of them were scrabbling at the ground with their tiny paws to dig holes. Others were carrying pickaxes which were bigger than their own bodies. The rest were pushing along buckets of Daims. As in the chocolate bars.
"Wait a second," said Bob. "I thought the hamster slaves mined for DIAMONDS, not DAIM BARS."
"They do mine diamonds," said Fredina. "It's just the author being facetious."
The author would like to apologise for being facetious.
Anyway.
The rest were pushing along buckets of diamonds with said tiny paws.
"Now do you see why I must take control of Penguindom?" Fredina asked, desperately. "These poor tiny hamsters must be set free!"
"Fredina," whispered one of the poor, tiny hamsters, "What are you doing here?! You could get caught by Laurence or one of his associates!"
"It's OK. I'm in disguise. The author is calling me Fredrica, my code name. No-one will know I'm here. As far as they know I'm just a random penguin named Fredrica visiting the diamond mines."
"Actually, I think the author's calling you Fredina," ventured Bob, helpfully.
"What?!"
Oops. Sorry. My mistake. I guess Fredin- I mean, Fredrica's cover has been blown.
Fredina went pale, despite the fact that her face was a mixture of black and white.
"Hang on," yelled a voice from one of the dark and very narrow passageways. "Did I just hear you say 'FREDINA went pale?' She's here! Get her!"
Oops. Sorry. I guess Bob and Fredina are in trouble...
