The Beast and The Harlot = ?

Part 55

"Ben you are the best boss ever." I squealed, giving him a hug.

"I can't start on the new schedule til next week so any days you work with Mike, you guys will have to work it out." He said, giving me a stern look.

"I understand boss." I said with a smile.

"Alright, get behind the bar!" He said enthusiastically.

I smiled and went on my way, smiling at the customers that waved at me.

"Hey Cynthia." Mike said, as I put my apron on.

"I'm just here to work Mike. I think its best if we just don't talk." I said, turning to the first customer.

"What can I get you?" I asked with a big smile.

"A shot of tequila." The girl said.

I nodded and bent over, grabbing the tequila bottle.

"So we can't be friends now? I thought that was the deal." Mike said.

I forced a smile as I gave the chick her drink and took the money.

"That obviously isn't enough for you so we can just cut it here." I said, tending to the next customer.

"What can I get you sir?" I asked with a pleasant smile.

"You." He said.

My smile instantly faded and I looked at the guy.

"Sorry, I'm taken." I said softly.

Brian smirked and leaned against the bar.

"Lucky guy." He said.

"Yeah that's what I keep telling him." I smiled.

"If you were with me, you wouldn't have to remind me. "He grinned.

I smiled and leaned towards him.

"Well, unfortunately for all the single, available men out there, I'm head over heels in love with this sweet guy named Brian. The rest just don't measure up." I said.

Brian grinned again and cupped my cheek.

"Love you babe." He murmured.

I leaned against his hand and smiled.

"I love you more." I said.

"Hey Cynthia! We've got a line. Stop flirting with your boyfriend!" Mike yelled.

I scowled at him, but he was right.

"Sorry babe. Gotta work." I said, leaning over the bar and giving him a quick kiss.

Brian's face stayed screwed up into a scowl.

I shrugged it off and started manning the bar.

Brian's POV

""Hey Cynthia! We've got a line. Stop flirting with your boyfriend!" Mike yelled.

Cynthia shrugged but leaned over the bar and gave me a quick kiss.

"Sorry babe. Gotta work." She said, walking away.

I didn't answer her.

My eyes were fixed on Mike.

He was way out of line for talking to a woman that way.

Even more so because it was MY woman.

Mike walked over to my side of the bar.

"Hey why don't you fetch me a beer." I said, loud enough so he knew I was talking to him.

He looked up at me and smirked.

"Fetch you one? What am I a dog?" He asked.

"Do you really want me to answer that question. You probably wont like the answer you get." I said with a smirk.

He scowled at me and stood looking at me.

Cynthia walked by and uncapped a beer for me, sliding it over.

"There you go babe." She said with a grin.

"What do I owe you?" I asked with a smile.

"Hmm." Cynthia said, tapping her chin and stepping closer to me.

"Maybe, a kiss. If you think you can handle it." She said with a smirk.

I grinned and leaned forward.

"You know I can. I showed you just how well I can handle it before you came to work." I said loud enough for her to hear as well as Mike.

Cynthias face turned ten shades redder and i smiled.

Mike's face, however, contorted into anger and I grinned even wider as I pulled Cynthia into a kiss that would have her dying for more.

She stood there, seeming to be in a daze as she looked at me.

"Maybe i should ask to go home early." She said, contemplating.

I laughed as Mike's nostrils flared.

"Ben wouldn't like that very much." Mike said.

She scowled and stuck her tongue out at him.

"I could think of a better use for that tongue of yours." Mike said softly, leaning toward Cynthia.

She backed up into the counter as I stood up off my stool.

"Try it, and it'll be the last thing you do." I said in a deadly tone.

Mike smirked as he looked at me.

"Wouldn't want that now would we?" Mike said in a taunting tone.

My fists clenched and unclenched as I imagined slamming my fist into his face until it looked like hamburger meat.

"Babe, its fine." Cynthia said soothingly.

I looked into her eyes and she was pleading with me to calm down.

She always hated when I fought at bars.

Probably more so now that she works here.

"Alright babe." I said, taking in a deep breath.

I'll be calm, for now....
