Sometime during your life you have to face challenges.

Challenges which you never imagined.

Challenges which change your life forever.

And it seems no matter how hard you try and avoid them, they will always find you.

They change you - sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

My challenge was a nightmare. A nightmare which not only happened to me but to 827, 000 more children.

My name is Lillian Smith and this is my story of being an evacuee in World War Two.
