Sculpted Hearts

Winifred Olivia Pullman.

James Martin Holloway.

She’s the fairly knowledgeable art junkie, who makes consistently good grades and has never been grounded. An artist by choice and through talent. The feel of the pencil sliding across the paper, the way she feels when she completes something. She lives for the moments like that, the intermingling joy and sadness that finishing a piece brings her. She’s the innocent, the girl who accidentally steps within his range.

He’s the slacker. Hey, he still passes. And surprisingly, it’s with all A’s and B’s. He’s also a talented artist, but he doesn’t usually show his full potential in art classes. The one course he absolutely shines in is ceramics. The feel of the wet clay turning and molding beneath his fingers is a stress reliever for him. At least, until the timid girl takes the wheel beside him on his turf and shows him that he’s got competition.

They’re as wrong for each other as the sun and the moon. Total opposites.

Maybe that’s where they thought wrong.
