Just an Awkward Mess...
chapter; 11
"So who's this John I hear about?"
"No one, mom."
Leslie's mother had never been much of mother. Sure, she provided a roof over her children's head, clothes and food. But her and Leslie never did mother-daughter things. They'd nver gone to get their nails done together. The two had never really been all that close and why her mother wanted to get close and personal now, Leslie had no idea.
"No one...hmm, really?"
"Yehh. He's just a boy. K?"
"Sure."
The two sat there in silence and Leslie decided to break it.
"Err. I'm going to my room."
Leslie walked away and could hear her mother stifle a sob, softly whispering to herself.
"What have I done to my children? One of them is constantly in trouble and the other is growing up so quickly and wants nothing to do with me or the rest of the family."
"No one, mom."
