Impala and Ingrid

chapter 1

As I lay there with a wad of tissue pressed hard against my arm, I smiled slightly.

The pain that I feel makes me feel more alive than I have ever felt in my whole life.

It’s just a feeling that you can’t describe in words.

I can feel the blood coming though the tissue.

I sit up still holding on to the tissue against my arm and look around my room.

I can see the tissue box on the table.

I look down at my arm and remove some of the tissue.

Shit! It’s bleeding more than I thought. I quickly get up carefully dodging the paper, tissue and clothes on the floor; I make my way to the tissues.

I remove the tissue from my arm to reveal loads of cuts bleeding heavily.

There’s a knock at the door.

I quickly without hesitation find my nearest black jumper and shove it on before answering the door.

It’s my older brother.
