Impala and Ingrid
chapter 4
Success!
‘Let there be light!’ I whispered to myself.
I found my mountain bike squashed against the wall behind Tom’s motor bike.
After wiggling my bike free I had only 4 minuets to make it to Impala who is the other side of the village.
Sod it. I slung on my back pack and mounted my bike.
I pressed the button to open the garages bigger door and rode of heading in to the direction of the church.
I was riding so fast that my face was numb.
I finally got to the church with seconds to spare.
I franticly uncoiled my bike lock and locked it to the graveyards bench.
I jogged over to Impala who was huddled against a wall.
As I got nearer I could see that she has some new bruises on her arms.
Impala’s father hits her because she looks too much like her mother.
Impala’s mother died a few years ago and that’s when she started to have her little “accidents”.
I and Impala have been friends for as long as I can remember.
I can tell Impala anything and I know that she won’t tell anyone even my mum.
