Blessings and Nightmares

Blaire Corinne Foster.

I groaned as I realized it was Monday, I'd have to go to school, and Lilia wouldn't let me stay home. I think the only thing that got me to want to go to school, was Edward, and his family. We've all gotten so close, they were like my new family. Edward, was just...great. We mostly talked. About everything, and I mean everything. I couldn't help but smile as I got dressed and made my way into the small kitchen to find Lilia making toast.

"Morning, Ash." She smiled. I grabbed an apple and took a bite into it. "Ouch! Damn!" Lilia hissed, shaking her hand when she tried to grab the toast from the toaster.

"Don't stick your fingers in the toaster, Lil...You know better." I smirked, taking a bite into my apple. She glared as me and stuck her tongue out.

"Forget the toast, let me just get you to school." She mumbled grabbing her car keys.

---

"See you later." I waved to Lilia as she drove off, and out of the parking lot.

"Ashley!" Alice chimed, dancing over to me.

"Hi." I mumbled, smiling lightly.

She put on a serious face and said, "You know, we aren't the bad ones. Carlisle and Edward, your lovers," she smirked, "still feel horrible about you and your sister running off. Don't take it too hard, will you? And on the brightside, we've all gotten closer since then." She beamed a pearly white smile at me.

I bit my lip and shrugged, "I'm not going to-" I gasped in pain, grabbing my stomach. "Ow..." I mumbled to myself, as the pain passed through and disappeared.

Alice grabbed me, "Ashley, are you okay?" She looked at me frantically. I nodded, and started walking off to class.

"Let's just...get to class, I'm sure it's nothing." I whispered, pulling Alice into class.

---

The morning classes passed rather quickly, which was odd, because they were always so boring and slow. We had gotten our reasearch paper back in Biology, Alice and I passed; which was good, though I wasn't too thrilled, because I didn't care.

Edward was in class with me, but I hardly talked to him, I wanted to just...pay attention in calss for once, and not day dream about his lightly-touched kiss from before. I would mentally slap myself when those thoughts came.

Plus, I knew Edward was totally eavesdropping in on my thoughts, so I played around and sang I Don't Feel Anymore by William Fitzsimmons, in my head, over and over again. I'm sure he got a small kick out of my mind-singing; if there is such a thing.

I sighed as I sat down at the table with Rose and Alice at lunch. I wasn't so much hungry, so I grabbed an apple and starting to take small bites out of it.

Alice sighed, "I can't see! Stupid mutts..." She mumbled.

"Wait, they are here?" Rose hissed quietly. Alice shook her head, grimacing.

"No, it's just, finding the bonds between Lilia, Ashley, and those dogs, it's stronger than ever, even if they're not imprints." She grumbled, placing her head in her hands.

I bit my lip, "I'm sorry, Alice." I whispered.

"Don't be sorry," I jumped at the sound of Edward's voice. He came and sat next to me. "You lived here well before we did, so Alice" he glared at her, "should not be complaining right now."

Alice stuck out her little tongue and glared. "Oh, be quiet!"

I smiled to adding a small laugh to her reaction to Edward. Then, Edward grabbed my hand, and held onto it. There was a feeling like I've never felt before. I could not do more than to hold onto him tight, like I'd lose him. I held onto his hand, almost for dear life.

I grimaced as Boo kicked, but shrugged it off when the ones around me frantically assked me if I was alright. Which I was fine, it's just that Boo had been kicking a lot more than usual lately, and I wasn't so used to the force she had.

"I'm gonna throw my stuff away." I said as I got up. I walked over to the trash can and threw what I had, into the garbage.

I went to turn around to feel a warm wetness drip down my leg. I guess it was good so wear a skirt today, because I could see that I hadn't pissed myself. I only had looked down a second to realzie that my water had broke.

I pain then shot through my lower abdomen, making me fall and scream in pain. I could feel the stares, even with my eyes closed, and I could hear the gasps and worry, throughout my painful screaming.

"Oh my gosh! Her water broke!" Rosalie gasped walking over to me.

"We need to get her to Carlisle, right now." Edward said, as he picked me up.

I didn't pay any attention to what was going on, only to know that Edward and the others had taken me to the hospital, in the human way. When the secretary had asked, scared for me, what was happening, she was rightfully ignored as they stormed off into the car.

I could hear myself scream as I felt Boo wanting to come out. "I can feel her coming!" I screamed, holdning onto Alice and Rosalie's hands tightly.

Rosalie calmed me while Alice cooed, "Shh, we'll be there very shortly. Edward is going over the spped limit, which isn't so surpising..." I smiled at her, then gasped loudly at how much pain I was enduring.

"Here." Edward said, frantically grabbing me out of the back seat. Rosalie and Alice, and i'm pretty sure the others, had followed suitly behind.

"Oh my god, what's going on?!" Lilia gasped, running towards us, worry all over her face.

"Her water broke." Rosalie answered.

"Carlisle, we need to deliver!" Lilia ran behind the desk, calling for Carlisle.

Carlisle appeared quickly, concentration portraying on his face. He gestured for Edward to place me in a room onto a hospital bed.

"Someone please change her into a hosptial gown, quickly." Carlisle ordered, stepping out of the room to gather nurses.

I felt my clothes coming off of me rather quickly. I looked to see Rose and Alice working hard to put me in something comfortable to deliver in.

"Done, Carlisle." Rose yelled out of the room. Carlisle and a few nurses came in, with tubes gallore.

"Ashley, these two nurses are going to hook you up to and IV and other tubes that are used during labor. I wish I could stay, but I'm not a doctor for delivering babies, so this is Doctor Grace." He pointed to a woman, with short black hair, smiling brightly at me.

"Hi, Ashley. We'll need to take you to the delivery room right now. But can you choose who will come with you in there?" She asked. I shrugged, gasping for air.

"I have patients, but they can wait." I hear Lilia say, as she grasped one of my hands that already had the IV in it.

"I'll go." Edward said. I opened my eyes to smiled up at him. He returned in, and grabbed my other hand.

"Alright the others, can wait in here, we need to get going." Doctor Grace said, pulling my hospital bed out of the room.

--- Two hours into labor.

"You're far along, Ashley. Nine centimeters. Just need one more, and she's ready to come out." Doctor Grace assured me, smiling. "She's going to be great, and healthy." She nodded.

I don't know how long it took, waiting and shrieking in pain. I held tightly onto Lilia and Edward's hands. I knew I'd probably leave bruises on Lili'a hands, but with Edward, I'd probably be the one with the bruises, what with his cold, marble hands that I started to adore.

---Six hours into labor.

"Well, Ashley..." Doctor Grace smiled down at me. "You're ready to deliver. Well, your baby is, but are you?" She asked.

I nodded, biting down on my lip. "Yes." I gasped.

"Alright, let's get ready to push, alright?" She asked.

Alright, giving birth is just completely awkward. Especially when it's nature's way of giving birth. Having a doctor, male, or female, looking at your whoo-hoo...it's just....weird. So the whole time I had to push, I was more worried about that. Which was stupid, I know.

"Alright, Ashley, you can push." She assured me. I looked up at Lilia who smiled down at me and nodded. I turned my head to see Edward, smiling also.

I pushed, just then, and screamed at the aching pain forming between my legs.

"Alright, just a few more times, Ashley. Push!" Doctor Grace said.

A few painful, aching, pushes later, I heard her cry. My beautiful baby girl was finally in my world, and just at the sound of her cry, did I, myself, start to cry. Edward kissed my cheek, wiping away the tears with his cold lips.

"Here is your baby girl, Miss Ashley." One nurse came over to me, smiling. She propped my baby up so i could see her from the small distance between us. I hardly got a chance to look before she took her off over to the table.

"Wh-what? Why can't I hold her?" I asked, looking back and forth from the nurse to the doctor.

"Need to clean her, hun." The nurse turned to Edward, smiling up at his gorgeous face. "You must be the father, congrats, dad!" She smiled. I opened my mouth to speak, but then closed, like a fish.

Edward smirked down at me, I bit my lip and smiled at him. Then I looked over to the nurse. "Um... He's not the father. The father isn't here anymore..." I trailed.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." The nurse frowned. She turned to clean off my baby and I couldn't help but to wait impatiently.

"You did great, Ash." Lilia smiled down at me, grazing her hand over my cheek.

"I know." I whispered, smiling up at her. "I love you, Lilia."

"I love you too, Ash!" She giggled and looked over to my left. I, too, then looked over to see the nurse bring me a small pink bundle.

"Here she is, Ashley." She said, handing me my baby.

I could do nothing other than smile down at my beautiful baby girl. She was just amazing, and I wanted nothing but to be with her, and not have to worry about the rest of my life. Couldn't I just find a way to skip school and take care of her?

"No, I'm sure we can arrange Alice and Rose to babysit while you are finishing up school. Besides, they have graduated many times before." Edward answered my thoughts. I rolled my eyes and smiled at him.

I looked back down, and kissed my baby's soft, fragile cheek. She was mine, my baby. I was feeling so selfish, but I like the feeling at the moment. I kissed her cheek again, whispering,

"My baby, Blaire Corrine Foster."

So, if anyone thought I was over-exagerrating about the hours of labor, I'm not. That's pretty true, for it to take as long as it did, just to get up to 10 centimeters. I know a lot cause my family runs with doctors. (ha ha funny) xP

Anyways, comments&Subscribers? I'll love you all forever! :D
