we were famous
I killed him. I left him with all the other bodies. I let the axe fall down to his side. I didn’t worry about the fingerprints or the blood on my shirt. I knew I wouldn’t get in trouble.
We were famous.
The police found me when I walked back to the main campsite. I cried and told them the whole story; the whole story how he kidnapped and killed everyone. I told them how much he loved me and the promise I made to him. I told them how he trusted me with the axe and how I killed him with it. They believed me.
The story was put on the news across the world. I was recognized everywhere I went. All my friends and family told me continuously how much they were glad I was alive. My father finally told my mother she was right about my karate lessons.
When the public heard I didn’t have enough money to go to college, everyone sent some. I had enough to attend any school I chose. I traveled to Europe and attended school there. The school I chose told me they had an opening due to an “unfortunate circumstance they couldn’t discuss with me”.
Everything went perfect. We got everything we wanted.
