You're My Everything
Let's go
I waited impatiently as Mick changed.
“Hurry up.” I said in a mock whiny tone that if I tried I was sure I could pass for Vince.
“I’m hurrying.” I heard Mick grumble from where ever he was behind the curtained area. They were already practicing in the place where they were supposedly going to play in a little over a week’s time, obviously that meant that there was nothing else going on in the town other than Motley Crue. I tried to wait patiently for another few minutes until Mick appeared in front of the curtain.
He didn’t look like the same person who had gone to change, instead of being dressed in something, well in something that you would expect someone from Motley Crue to be wearing he looked pretty normal in just a simple t-shirt and jeans, in fact he actually looked good better than when he was all dressed up or performing. His black hair still hung almost limply and part of me wondered if it ever looked different. I made a mental note to pay attention to that.
“Well are we going?” Mick asked after a few seconds of silence, he sounded tired, he always sounded tired now, I wondered if that was because of the disease he had or because life on the road was already starting to take its toll on Mick, or maybe both.
“Uh yeah, let’s go.” I said after another moment breaking out of my streamline of thoughts revolving around Mick, he gave me a small smile before walking around and down the steps off of the stage, I assumed that later on that would be blocked off by security, but for now it remained open. Mick met up on the floor with me as I fell in step with him towards the exit I thought I saw him give me another small smile that seemed to almost make my heart flutter, but I ignored the feeling, he was a married man, even if they were going through a divorce the divorce wasn’t final, meaning that he was still a married man and that meant that he was off limits.
“So where do you want to go? Anywhere particular?” Mick asked after another moment of silence passed, why couldn’t I think of anything to say to him, anything intelligent at all would have been nice instead of looking like a dumb bimbo like all the other girls the rest of the band seemed to be into. My mind froze for a second like I had run out of words and thoughts as I paused before answering.
“I’m not really sure, I’ve never even thought about visiting Europe, not to mention what I would go and see if I did.” I answered honestly, honesty was best in this situation right? I mean that was the truth working as a waitress during the day and a bartender at night didn’t give you a lot of cash, you didn’t get to save much so I had never even in my wildest dreams thought I would be visiting Europe in my lifetime. “What about you, anywhere you’d like to go?” I said after a moment, turning the tables around on Mick, from the little bit that I had seen of him with the rest of the band he seemed to be the quiet one that got ignored. Now it was his turn to be silent as he thought about the question.
“I’m not sure either, it’s my first time as well, I suppose we could always go and wander around and see where we end up, that is if you’re up to it.” He said almost flinging the question right back into my face. I tried not to roll my eyes, from the way that he had answered it certainly sounded like he wanted to go out and explore but it seemed like he was trying to be a gentleman and let me pick.
“Well then what are we waiting for let’s go!” I half shouted as I grabbed Mick’s hand and pulled him along to the door then pulling the door open and dragging him outside into the streets of Germany.
“Darian, stop it! You can’t do this!” He snapped at me as I pulled him down the street, slowing from my fast pace into a slower steadier pace so we could maybe take in the sights.
“And why can I not do this?” I replied as I entwined my fingers through his, surprisingly enough instead of giving my hand like a gentle squeeze like he had done the previous times he jerked his hand away from me.
“Because I’m still Mick Mars, I’m still technically married to Emi even if she is screwing around and trust me it’ll look a lot worse if I’m caught screwing around as compared to if she’s caught screwing around.” He said as he shoved his hands into his pockets and seemed to take an extreme interest in the buildings around us. I would admit that they were very neat and it was nice to see something other than American style buildings like the ones that seemed to litter Los Angeles and practically every other major city in the States. I listened for a moment waiting for him to say something like we weren’t screwing around or something like that, but he never did say anything about that. Which was interesting, because we weren’t screwing around, I mean we held hands and I had kissed him once….but that didn’t mean that we were screwing around because we weren’t well….y’know fucking or anything close to that.
We wandered around aimlessly for what seemed like ages but when I checked the time it had only been a little over half an hour and my feet were starting to kill me, of course Mick seemed to remain unscathed, despite the amount of walking that we were doing.
“Are you okay Darian?” Mick asked as I sat down on an empty bench that seemed to have bird shit on it, I scooted over as much as possible, trying to avoid the potential bird shit, if Mick wanted to sit down, he could sit down in the bird shit.
“I’m fine just sore.” I told him as I slipped off my flat and took a look at the bottom of my foot, which had a few blisters on it. Note to self, when possibly exploring a unknown city or planning to do a lot of walking flats were not the best thing to wear, avoid at all costs unless you wanted blisters the size of nickels on your heels. I could almost feel the pain in my feet now that I had taken off my shoes and let me feet “breathe” so to speak.
“Are you sure that you’re okay, because that looks painful.” Mick said as he took a step closer, earning a look from a passing pedestrian, like they almost recognized him but were too afraid to say anything in case they were wrong.
“I’ll be fine, I just need a minute to rest.” I said firmly as I slipped my shoe back on and took a breath in before standing up again, ignoring the growing pain in both my feet now. “Alright, let’s go, where too now?” I asked shooting him a smile to prove that I was perfectly fine.
“I don’t know, I was thinking that maybe we could go back to the hotel and maybe…” have sex? Make out? Fuck around? Screw? I thought you just said you couldn’t do any of that fuck while you’re still married. “then go out for dinner or something, you know it’s getting late.” Mick said as I immediately felt my face go red, how could I be thinking of doing that kind of stuff with Bobby fucking Deal of all people I mean sure we had a thing once upon a time, but that was years ago, there was nothing left of that at all, it had all eroded over the years, like the way a stone is as it is tossed about in the ocean.
“I’m up for that.” I said brightly, trying to keep my voice sounding as cheery as possible, if we were going anywhere else I would definitely not be wearing flats, or any type of shoe that would help my blisters cultivate even more than they were already.
“Good, then we can wander back to where we were at the beginning and get a ride from there back to the hotel and go from there.” Mick said shooting me a look as I bit my lip then forced a smile on my face. He was doing this on purpose, he knew I was in pain he knew that my feet were pretty much killing me but he wouldn’t go easy on me, not until I admitted it at least, and to admit it would be to admit defeat.
“Sounds fantastic, let’s go.” I said as I began to walk away smirking to myself, this day hadn’t been that bad, and it looked like it was only going to get better.
