The next memory comes to me instantly

We were lying on the floor of our tree house. I was revising, and you were making paper airplanes, having finished your homework already.

After a while, I realised you had stopped and were now staring at me.

‘What?’ I said, sounding defensive even to myself.

‘Nothing, you just look nice today,’ You replied.

‘Oh! Thanks?’

This verse I didn’t even have to think about. I scribbled something down, not paying proper attention five minutes ago, and now, when I look at it I had the beginning of the next verse:

I look at the words, laughing. I have no idea what the next part is going to be, but this first part is good. It makes me think, our parents had always joked about us being together, but I really don’t think they ever thought it would happen. Wait. That was the next part:
