Hanru Sazuki

Hanru Sazuki Volume One Chapter Nine: Tailed (Spring 2009)

Hanru: (Thinking) I haven't known Sarah for that long; and already she's given me a very powerful realization: No matter how messed up your personality or life may be; there's still hope for redemption and happiness. But if you want happiness, you have to work hard for it. It won't just suddenly happen. I know the urge to kill will still hunt Sarah, but we all must go down the road of trials. Hopefully she can resist the urge. Natasha refuses to change. I really wish this didn't have to happen, but it must. Either we kill her, or she kills me.

(Hanru is now in the back seat of Jason's car. Jason is in the front seat driving and Allen is in the passenger seat. Hanru is staring outside of the window, watching the cars drive by.)

Allen: It's almost 4:00 in the morning; shouldn't we get him home?

Jason: Yeah. I don't think Natasha's gonna bother him for awhile. I think he'll be safe with his uncle.

Allen: We both know that's not true. Natasha is dangerous. no one's safe when it comes to her.

Jason: His uncle will start asking questions about why Hanru's out all night. We can't risk him knowing about us.

Allen: Yeah.

Hanru: Sometimes, you have to take risks in life. I'll risk staying home unprotected.

Jason: Aren't you brave.

Allen: It's stupidity. You're risking your life.

Hanru: I've been hanging out with serial killers all day and I've gotten involved with other serial killers. I know the risk and I'm prepared to face whatever comes my way.

Allen: I guess...

Jason: I can tell something's on your mind, Hanru. You wanna talk about it?

Hanru: (Thinking) Do I really want to go down this road? Do I really want to entrust some of my darkest secrets to these people?

Jason: I mean it's okay if you don't. I'm not blaming you for it.

Hanru: (Thinking) I'm going for it. But I don't think I should. (To Jason and Allen) I do have something to say. I have... A very dark secret.

Jason: Dark as in... Like Allen and I? (Laughs)

Hanru: (Serious) Yes...

(Hanru feels nervous and his breathing becomes a bit heavier.)

Allen: Are you joking?

Hanru: No. I'm dead ser-... I'm serious.

Jason: I don't see it in you, Hanru. I can tell you have secrets, but... You're not a killer. And you never will be.

Hanru: Why is it that I don't process a lot of emotion. Whenever I joke around with my friends or laugh at a movie or act happy, I'm pretending. I fake my way through life constantly. But I've done it so much, that It's become a part of me. Me pretending is just natural to me. And even sometimes... I have thoughts. Thoughts to take someone's life. It helps me identify serial killers by looking into their eyes, but they can't see the killer side in me.

Jason: Almost everybody goes through a phase in their life when they think about murder. Sometimes this phase can last a few hours. For some, days, even weeks. And sometimes this phase can lasts years. Something from your past has made you disconnect from your emotions. You are a good person, Hanru, but something happened to you as a child which made you not process a lot of emotion.

Allen: It's possible that your thoughts to kill, that scar on your chest, and your memory loss, are linked somehow.

Hanru: So something to do with a murder from my past is what triggered these thoughts?

Jason: Yep.

Allen: Find the cause of your memory loss, and you will know the source of your evil thoughts.

Hanru: All I can remember is a woman screaming: My mom. And me being stabbed with a sword in the chest. I think I was a baby. I don't know how I survived a stab to the chest if I was just a baby.

Jason: You need to do some major research.

Hanru: (Thinking) I took a chance by revealing my darkest secret. Things worked out for me. But telling people your secrets doesn't always workout. I know now that these thoughts that I kept hidden in the back of my head have an origin. I need to find the truth. I need to just... Remember...

[Hanru's home]

(Hanru is in his bedroom with the lights dimmed. He lies on his bed and stares at the ceiling. He looks at his door to make sure it's locked. He then looks at the ceiling again. He enjoys the silence of the peaceful room. He closes his eyes. He sees a bright light and begins to hear a woman's voice.)

Woman: You're special, Hanru. I'm not just saying that because I am your mother. I know you will help many others; just as you helped me. You've brought me much joy in my life. When I meet your father, I didn't think I could love anything more than him. But you proved me wrong; the day you were born. You are a miracle, Hanru. You must always make the right choices; even if it's the wrong thing to do in the eyes of your superiors. I have faith in you. And you must have faith in yourself. I know you are only a baby, but let these words forever be apart of your mind. No one can tell you what your destiny is. You must find out who you are by learning from your own experiences in life.

[9:30AM]

(Hanru opens his front door and Lee's on his porch. He looks nervous. He sounds a bit depressed, but he's actually relieved to see him.)

Lee: Ah, man. (Hugs Hanru)

Hanru: Uh... (Hugs back with one arm in confusion) Good morning to you too...

Lee: (Stops hugging) I'm so glad to see you're alive, man. You have no idea.

Hanru: Of course I'm alive, Lee, (Closes door and goes outside) why wouldn't I be?

Lee: Last night, you told me you were going to the forest with Jason and Allen to say goodbye to Sarah. On the news, a body was found in that exact forest. They said it was a male. My T.V. froze before they could say anything else.

Hanru: You must really be hurt. This is the first time I've seen you upset in awhile.

Lee: I am.

(Lee walks to the stares and watches the children playing in the street. Hanru sits on one of the benches on the porch.)

Lee: I don't know what I'd do If I lost you, man. Look at them. They smile and laugh without a care in the world. They enjoy being young. I know you have a lot of problems in your life that you never talk about. You hate meeting new people, you have a type of social phobia. You're claustrophobic.

Hanru: I know what problems I have in my life and I know how to get over them, but only for a short time. Yes, I'm claustrophobic. But if I'm locked in a small room, I can control my mental mind and tell myself to calm down. But it only works for a short time. What does this have to do with you thinking I was dead?

Lee: I'm saying... I don't want you to die without enjoying life at its fullest. You have to learn to enjoy being young and do stuff. You only get one life.

Hanru: (Thinking) He wants me to live a full life before I die... But I don't know how. I've always been a loner deep down. I have secrets that not even Lee can know about. I'm sorry, Lee.

Lee: (Takes deep breath and covers face for a second) I know there's a lot you're not telling me about yourself. I understand you have secrets...

Hanru: I like to be alone, but I try to get as many friends as possible so that I won't be alone.

Lee: What does that mean?

Hanru: Don't think I'm crazy when I tell you this... I have... Multiple personalities... But they all share the same consciousness.

Lee: You mean you have multiple personalities, but instead of blacking out and becoming a different person, your thoughts, judgments, and feelings change?

Hanru: Yeah. But it's more than that. My mind is impossible to explain; no one can understand it. I don't know if what I have is a gift or curse.

Lee: Most people don't have an understanding of their own mind. You are able to change your own personality. You can change everything about yourself.

Hanru: Not everything... But most things.

Lee: What do you think about Natasha?

Hanru: I really want her to change and better her life. But her mind is too messed up for her to control it. Also a part of me thinks she's dangerously sexy for some reason.

Lee: So you think she should die?

Hanru: I don't want her to, but It might be the only way. I'm not gonna kill her. Maybe Jason or Allen will.

Lee: Can you control your personality to make you a serial killer?

Hanru: I can... But being a killer isn't just something you can bounce back from. My mind would have to completely turn into that of a killer's if it's gonna stick. Some part of me won't let that happen. And I will have a demon hovering over me, the rest of my life.

Lee: I should get going now.

Hanru: Before you go, I need to know more about the body that was found in the forest.

Lee: I can go online and watch the news.

Hanru: I'll be over in 10 minutes.

[Police station]

(LJ is talking to the captain in his office. LJ is sitting on the couch and the captain is sitting at his desk.)

Maurice: So you want me to drop all her charges cause she was trying to help someone?

LJ: That is correct.

Maurice: That girl lead my officers in a police chase and almost killed innocent civilians; how is that helping someone?

LJ: Holly was scared, she didn't know what to do. She knew Meukie wasn't the prostitute killer and she ran from the cops to protect a falsely accused woman.

Maurice: Alright, I'll make you a deal: If you provide me with evidence that clearly states Meukie is not a killer, I'll drop the charges for both of them.

LJ: Oh, but I have Proof. One of your fellow employees questioned me about the prostitute killer. I gave him a description of the wrong person. Meukie has nothing to do with any of the prostitute killer's victims. The woman you're looking for is Sarah Travis. She lives in some apartment buildings across the street from my barbershop. Meukie and Sarah were old friends. That's why Meukie was in the apartments at the time she was arrested. Meukie was only there to visit. She knew nothing about Sarah being the prostitute killer.

Maurice: How do I know I can trust you?

LJ: Question the people who live in the apartments. They will all give you the same description. They will all tell you the same thing. Two innocent women are running scared from the law; the least you can do is give them hope for freedom.

Maurice: I'll try my best to help them, but I can only offer my best.

LJ: Fate will decide the rest. (Smiles)

[Cheap motel]

(Meukie walks up to the receptionist. His name is Jean and he has a horrible personality. She's breathing hard but not to hard for anyone to worry. She's holding her shoulder and she's panicking just a little.)

Meukie: Hey, Jean, I need a spare key to my room.

Jean: Where have you been? I thought you died.

Meukie: Awe, that's so sweet. Can I have the key now please.

Jean: Sorry, no can do. I had to rent your room out.

Meukie: Wh- you what?

Jean: I'm sorry, Yuki, but I was loosing business. I let you stay in my motel free cause you were good in bed. simple as that. But people have come up to me, offering real money to rent a room. Yours was the last one available so... I gave it away.

Meukie: What about my stuff, Jean?! What am I suppose to do?! Where am I suppose to live?!

Jean: I'm sorry, I can't help you out.

(Meukie grabs Jean by the collar and yanks him toward her. She begins to get angry, but she calms down after about 5 seconds. She lets him go.)

Meukie: I'm sorry.

Jean: It's fine. What happened to you anyway?

Meukie: I was shot.

Jean: That's nothing new. You get shot every night.

Meukie: This is no time for your dirty jokes, Jean, I'm serious. I was really shot. It's almost healed, but I need a place to relax right now.

Jean: Wish I could help you out. (Shrugs) Sorry.

Meukie: (Gets a little angry) No, Jean, you listen to me. You can't just throw me out like I'm some piece of garbage. I need a place to keep warm at night. I need a roof over my head.

Jean: You spend most of your time on the street; you can live there. I don't know; live with some single guy and have sex with him for a place to live.

Meukie: Dang it, Jean, please! Help me out here. (Eyes tear up) I have nowhere else to go!

Jean: Not my problem.

Meukie: I want my stuff.

Jean: Sorry, had to dispose of them.

Meukie: Dispose?!

Jean: Yeah, I burned ‘em. Does that upset you?

Meukie: You're an evil man. I wish you'd die and burn for all eternity.

Jean: I'm actually looking forward to that. But thanks, Hun.

(Meukie storms off in anger. She walks outside and looks around. She slowly walks toward the exit of the apartments. Once she exits, she stops. She looks down to the concrete and begins to think.)

(Swap meet)

(Erika is walking around a very crowded swap meet with a large vanilla ice cream cone in her hand. She licks it three times. A man in a muscle shirt and shorts runs into her and she drops her ice cream on the ground. The man has a bright positive attitude.)

Jogger: Oh I'm so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Did I get any on you?

Erika: No, I'm fine; I can always buy another.

Jogger: As a gymnastics teacher, I'm giving you my honest opinion so please don't take this the wrong way. I honestly think you should work out more. You look like you've recently gained weight. Hear me out. My wife an I own a gym not too far from here. I can get you a free membership which is good for 3 months, but once that expires, you’ll only pay a small monthly fee of $24.95.

Erika: I'm not interested. After three days, my weight won't be a problem.

Jogger: If you change your mind, (Pulls wallet out and hand Erika a card) here's my business card. Enjoy the swap meet. (Waves goodbye and jogs away.)

(Erika watches him run until he disappears into the crowd. She then walks a few feet the opposite direction and stops at a knife stand. The merchant is sitting on a chair reading a newspaper. His attitude is that of a serious thug.)

Merchant: Can I help you, sweetheart?

Erika: (Serious) What can you tell me about these knives?

Merchant: (Puts newspaper down and stands up) Exactly, how much do you want to know?

Erika: Which of these blades are good for stabbing?

Merchant: As in murder, or seriously hurtin' someone for self defense?

Erika: You‘re a man of business; you should know how to read your customers. Tell me what you think I’m lookin’ for?

Merchant: I think you're looking to get revenge. I think I can help you with that. (Grabs a knife) You need a sharp blade with short reach. It'll be easier to get it back if someone takes it away from you.

Erika: I won't give him that chance. Now are we going to do business or are we gonna talk all day?

Merchant: (Smiles and picks up a bag of sunflower seeds.) We'll do business, but this better not come back to bite me. (Puts seeds in mouth)

Erika: I'm a professional when it comes to covering evidence. You have nothing to worry about.

Merchant: (Spits out seeds and extends arm) Name's Clay.

Erika: Erika. (Both shake hands)

Clay: Erika, I think we're gonna get along fine.

[Cabin]

(Hanru, Lee and Mamimi exit Mamimi's SUV and walk toward the cabin Jason and Allen were hiding in. The cabin has been boarded up. They go inside and look around the living room.)

Allen: No one knows about this place but us. This is the perfect spot to kill Natasha.

Mimi: Why not just kill her in a public place and get it over with?

Jason: Our group has been together for many years. We share a special bond. She deserves a private and peaceful death.

Allen: We don't want to risk the police reading her file and finding anything that leads to us. If the police know how many people we've killed, they'll execute us.

Lee: I can't believe I'm in an actual kill room. It's so weird.

Hanru: So you guys called us here to show us this?

Jason: Yep. We boarded up the cabin and fixed all the holes.

Hanru: So the only thing left to do is find Natasha.

Allen: Hopefully she shows up. We have no idea where she is.

(Hanru's cell phone rings)

Hanru: (Answers) Hello?

Meukie: (Nervous) Hanru, where are you?!

Hanru: I'm a little busy right now, why?

Meukie: I need to speak with you, now!

Hanru: Is it important?

Meukie: Very!

Hanru: (Takes deep breath) Alright, Meukie, meet me at my house.

(Hanru's living room 2 hours later)

(Hanru, Lee, Mamimi, Meukie, Jason and Allen are standing around in Hanru's living room.)

Hanru: Why are you so nervous, Meukie? And where have you been, I haven't seen you in days?

Meukie: A lot has happened to me after I was shot.

Hanru: Us too.

Meukie: You go first.

Hanru: No you go. You look like you have a lot on your mind.

Meukie: Well I witnessed a murder last night. This time the killer saw me. Anyway, it was a woman. She tied this man down, beat him, skinned him alive, then burned him to death.

Allen: Sounds like Natasha.

Meukie: Who?

Hanru: You have a lot to catch up on, Meukie.

(Abandoned warehouse, hours later)

(Hanru, Lee, Mamimi, Meukie, Jason, and Allen are inside of an abandoned warehouse. The place is open and empty. Everyone is looking around. Heavy rain is pouring down from the dark sky.)

Meukie: I was upstairs when I heard the man screaming. Natasha didn't see me up there.

Allen: This doesn't seem like the type of place Natasha would go to kill.

Hanru: So how did she know where you were?

Meukie: While she was burning the man alive, I ran. She was downstairs and I was up, so I didn't think she would see me. While the man was screaming, I didn't think she would hear me run. She saw me with the corner of her eye.

Hanru: Did she see your face?

Meukie: I don't know. I'm sure she did.

Jason: She has nowhere else to hide; she'll come back. She doesn't know we know you, Meukie, so she won't expect us to be here. She'll watch this place from a distance. She'll wait till she sees you, then try to kill you.

Meukie: So should I go somewhere else?

Jason: No. I think you'll be perfect bait. Don't worry; Allen and I got your back.

Meukie: (Nervous) Wait, you want to use me as bait? What if she snipes me; then who'll have my back?!

Jason: Calm down, Meukie. All you do is stay inside where she can't see you. Don't worry; we'll be here.

Meukie: I can't believe I'm doing this.

Allen: You're doing a good thing, Meukie, trust me.

Meukie: What do you think I should do, Hanru?

Hanru: I hate to just use you like this, but Natasha is a dangerous person, and we need to capture her.

Meukie: I'm trusting you, Hanru. I trust your decision is right.

Hanru: No... Please, don't. I can't handle people relying on me. Its just... No.

Meukie: (Smiles) I still trust you.

Hanru: I doubt it...

Jason: Alright, the three of you should get out of here. We'll call you if anything happens.

Hanru: Okay. (Phone rings and he answers) Hello...?

Holly: (A little upset) Hey, where are you?

Hanru: I'm with friends, why?

Holly: It's my grandmother: (Tears drop from her face) Her cancer came back and she's expected to go any minute.

Hanru: Your grandmother Camilla?

Holly: Yeah. (Sniff) She asked for you. She wants you to be here when she dies.

Hanru: I'll be there in half an hour. (Hangs up) (Thinking) Why is everyone so interested in me? What did I do to make everyone like me. Jason is a serial killer who's now my friend, because he was interested in my "detective skills". Meukie trusts me and believes that whatever I say is always right. Camilla treats me like a member of her family. Why do these people have so much faith in me? I don't want them to have faith in me? I'll only let them down. I can't believe someone's actually asking me to be with them while on their dying bed.

(Holly is sitting next to her dying grandmother. Dr. Peter walks into the room and closes the door. He walks up to Holly and puts his hand on her shoulder. He does feel bad about the situation. Holly continues to silently tear up and watch her grandmother Camilla as she lies unconscious.)

Holly: Gosh you know, It seems like we were just getting to know each other... And now she's slowly slipping away from me.

Peter: Trust me; I understand. I felt the same way when my mother died.

Holly: You know my mother died from cancer. And now my grandma. (Sniffs. Peter hands her tissue.) Thank you. (Wipes nose) I just hope I don't have it.

Peter: Hey, you're fine. (Smiles) I seriously do not believe you have cancer.

Holly: How do you know?

Peter: (Joking) Cause I'm a doctor.

(Both chuckle)

Holly: How much time does she have left? (Makes eye contact) I want the truth.

Peter: (Looks away from Holly and hesitates for a second.) ... She doesn't have much time.

Holly: It's a sad thing. You only get one life. And when you lose someone you care about, you know you'll never see them again. You'll never hear the sweet sounds of their voice or be able to touch them. Or even worry about if they're okay or not.

Peter: When you come to the actual realization of death, its hard. But it can sometimes reveal to you what you're missing in your life.

Holly: I think about death a lot... And I don't want to die alone.

Peter: No one does. Sometimes its good to know that someone you care about is crossing into the spirit world with you.

Holly: I want to be with the one I love when I die. (Begins to cry a bit more.) But death is so unexpected... I don't know when its gonna call my name... And I haven't found love yet. (Begins crying.)

(Peter kneels down to Holly and allows her to cry on his shoulder. Camilla is unconscious on her dying bed.)

Peter: I'm sorry.

Holly: Peter... You seem like a nice guy.

(Holly stops Peter to look him in the eye.)

Peter: You're still a teenager, and I'm grown up already.

Holly: Age is just a number.

Peter: Not to most people; not to me.

Holly: But you're such a sweet guy. I'll be the best girlfriend you'll ever have. I'll do whatever you want me to. Anything…

Peter: No, Holly.

(Holly gets angry and pushes Peter away from her.)

Holly: Get out of here. I don't ever want to see you again. You're not a real man. I bet you're gay. Yeah, you must be gay.

Peter: I'm in love with someone else right now is all.

Holly: Is all?

Peter: If I didn't have feelings for another woman, maybe we'd have something between us.

Holly: And you being 30 and me being 14 doesn't bother you at all?

(Peter slowly walks up to Holly, looks her in the eyes and puts his hands on Holly's shoulders. He slowly rubs her arms. He speaks to her in a calm and soothing voice.)

Peter: No, but does it bother you?

Holly: I've never done it before... I don't know.

Peter: Why not give it a try? But keep in mind that this remains between us. Our little secret.

(Peter softly rubs his fingers through Holly's hair. Holly jumps away from him.)

Holly: (Uncomfortable) I'm sorry. I... I just... Don't know what to think right now.

Peter: (Talks normal) Which pretty much proves my point. You're not thinking logically right now, do to the death of your grandmother. You need to grieve before you start dating again.

Holly: So... You don't want to date me?

Peter: (Chuckles) No. But you coming on to me wasn't rare. I've had many girls do that to me. I just thought I'd try to do things their way for once to get them to snap out of it. But I wasn't really gonna date you.

Holly: (Chuckles with relief) Well, that's... A pretty big relief. Thanks for helping me snap out of it.

Peter: And if you haven't noticed, you've completely forgotten about your grandmother. And you're smiling.

Holly: Thank you for helping me smile, Peter.

Peter: You're welcome, Holly.

(Diner)

(Sergeant, Adam Giovanni is at a diner. He exits his car and walks inside. He sits in a corner and covers his face with a menu left on the table. He slowly looks behind him and sees Oliver eating something. A waitress walks up to him. The waitress has a beautiful smile and a very bright personality.)

Charlie: Oh sorry, sir, that table's not clean yet.

Giovanni: It's fine, really.

Charlie: Let me at least wipe the table for you. Wouldn't want to draw attention; eating at a messy table.

Giovanni: Yeah. Wouldn't want to draw attention. (Smiles)

(Oliver peaks outside the window and sees Natasha with the corner of his eye. He quickly turns away and takes a sip of coffee. Natasha walks up to Giovanni's car and flattens all four tires with a pocket knife. She walks away with a non-suspicious face. Oliver looks behind him in the corner booth and sees Giovanni talking to the waitress.)

Charlie: (Smiles) Coffee, on the house.

Giovanni: (Smiles) You're sweet, you know that?

Charlie: Name's Charlie.

Giovanni: Adam. (Both shake hands)

(Oliver gets up and leaves money on the table. He quickly walks to the exit of the diner without Giovanni noticing. Oliver gets into his car. Giovanni turns around and notices Oliver left his table and left a tip. Oliver drives off in a hurry. Giovanni runs outside and runs to his car nearby. He notices his tires are flat. He watches Oliver's car drive away. A car stops beside Giovanni and the windows roll down. The one driving the car is Natasha. Natasha is acting friendly.)

Natasha: Hey! I couldn't help but notice you got a flat! You need a ride?

Giovanni: I need your vehicle for police purposes, ma'am. (Shows her badge)

Natasha: It's all yours, Officer. (Gets out of car and walks up to Giovanni.) Just bring it back by tomorrow at 5:00PM. I have to meet up with some friends.

Giovanni: Thank you.

(Giovanni gets into Natasha's car and drives off. Natasha watches him drive away with a menacing smile.)

(Hospital)

(Hanru walks into Camilla's room. Camilla smiles. She is really weak. Holly gives him a hug as soon as he walks in.)

Holly: I'm so glad you came.

Hanru: Yeah, me too.

Camilla: Holly... We've already said our goodbyes... I would like to speak with Hanru alone now.

Holly: Okay, grandma.

(Holly leaves the room and closes the door. Hanru walks up to Camilla.)

Hanru: Why did you call for me, Camilla? Where's your son-in-law? Where's Tsuki? Where's your family?

Camilla: Let‘s not worry about them right now... I called you here to tell you something... It's about Meukie's lost child. With my last breath, I will tell all I can. Listen closely... I have a lot to say.

Hanru: No, no. (Tightly grips Camilla's hand.) Save your breath. Save it for your family. The one's you really care about.

Camilla: Hanru... It's time you know. Holly is not my real family.

Hanru: I don't understand.

Camilla: Holly... Is Meukie's real daughter.

Hanru: You’re serious?! I mean are-are you sure?

Camilla: Positive. Holly's mother and her father Bruce, kidnapped Holly after Meukie gave birth.

Hanru: LJ told me about this. It was when he kidnapped us. He said his child was taken away from him after she was born.

Camilla: My daughter has been watching Meukie since that day. She's been waiting for the right time to inform Meukie of her daughter.

(Camilla starts coughing up a bit of blood. Hanru grabs a Kleenex and wipes the blood off.)

Camilla: It wasn't long before she lost Meukie. While on her dying bed, my daughter tried to tell Holly about her biological mother. But she died before she could speak the truth...

Hanru: Why are you telling me this? Why are you trusting me with a secret this big?

Camilla: Cause I trust you.

Hanru: No, but why? You hardly know me, Camilla. You don't know anything about who I really am. No one does.

Camilla: You're a special kid, Hanru; I know that.

Hanru: What do you want me to do with this? Do I tell Holly? Do I not tell her? Wait... How do you know Meukie's Holly's real mother?

Camilla: Because of the name, resemblance, and DNA test Dr. Peter helped me with.

Hanru: Do you think I should tell her?

(Highway)

(Giovanni is tailing Oliver's car. Oliver pulls out his phone and calls Jason.)

Jason: What is it?

Oliver: Natasha's been following me. Apparently, so has my Sergeant. She flattened the tires on his car so he couldn't follow me anymore. She knew I saw her in the parking lot so now she's following me in plain sight. She got her windows tinted too so I wouldn't be able to see what she's doing.

Jason: Lead her back to the cabin. Allan and I will be there as soon as we can. (Both hang up.)

Meukie: What's going on?

Jason: Natasha isn't coming to the warehouse; she's tailing Oliver. I don't know what she's planning, but Oliver's leading her to the kill room.

Allen: The cabin?

Jason: Yeah.

Meukie: Wait, what about me? What do I do?

Jason: You're free to go home.

(Jason and Allen run out of the warehouse.)

Meukie: (Says to self) Right, home...

(Meukie looks down in depression. The thunder roars and it begins to rain hard. Giovanni is still tailing Oliver on the highway.)

Giovanni: (Thinks out loud) Why are you leaving town? What are you up to, Oliver?

(Giovanni looks in the glove compartment to find anything of use. The only thing in there is a video camera. He puts it in the passenger's seat and closes the glove compartment.

(Police Station)

(Ada goes into the interrogation room to talk to Erika. She closes the door and sits on the opposite side of the table where Erika is. Erika looks impatient. Ada puts a cup of coffee in front of Erika. Erika stares at it for a few seconds then grabs the cup.)

Erika: Thank you.

Ada: I couldn't help but notice how much different you look. Have you gained weight?

Erika: I recently put on a few pounds. I've just been eating my pain away. But it doesn't work. It just makes things worse.

Ada: You gonna drink your coffee? (Erika stares at it for a few seconds) What are you afraid I drugged it or something?

Erika: (Takes a big sip) I kinda hope you did.

Ada: I mad sure no one was watching us. The camera is off and no one's on the other side of the one-way mirror.

Erika: How do I know I can trust you?

Ada: Cause I come to you as a friend; not a coworker. When I was a little girl, I tried to murder my own father. I ended up killing my sister and I almost killed myself. I know what it's like to want to kill someone. Our experiences may be different, but we have the same principle.

Erika: Are you here to try and change my mind, Ada? If you are, you might as well get out of that chair and walk out that door.

Ada: Like I said: I'm here as a friend. Only four of us know about what you're going through. We all understand.

Erika: You understand?! Okay then, if you understand, how about letting me go and kill the men who ruined my life?!

Ada: I'm gonna help you. One man alone cannot inflict this much pain upon one woman. There's something else bothering you. What is it?

Erika: When I was still in high school, My friends and I wondered into a forest. A group of people attacked us. They captured us, locked us underground, beat and tortured us. They tortured my friends in front of me. All I could do was sit and watch as my friends slowly died one by one. After they killed my friends, they let me go out into the forest. They decided to hunt me down and kill me as a sick little game. It took me three days to get out of that forest. I separated from my family, cause I knew they wouldn't understand. They would put the situation in the hands of the police. But I didn't need police; I needed my loved ones to avenge me and kill the people who hurt me. (Takes sip of coffee) I was young then. It was hard for me to move on. But I found a man who was willing to let me stay with him. He was the kindest person I have ever meet. He truly did all he could to get me through this traumatic situation. And he did. But after a few years, he showed me his true side. He drugged me, abused me, caused me to have an abortion. He... He would even force me and put it on tape. He did so much to me. And he showed me so much. It showed me bodies of dead woman. He told me I'd end up like them if I said anything to anyone. (Desperately holds back tears. Tells to self) I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry. Not over him.

Ada: (Grabs Erika's hand) It's okay... Just let it out.

Erika: (Sucks up her tears) I did whatever I could to just forget everything. I sit at home all day with the lights off and I drink myself to sleep. Sometimes I do drugs until I pass out. I did anyway. I don't need the drugs anymore. My trauma completely took over.

Ada: The guy that did this to you: Was it Oliver?

Erika: (With eyes soaked in tears, she whispers.) Yeah...

Ada: Then you deserve your revenge; he deserves to die.

(Forest at night)

(Oliver parks his car in front of a cabin. Jason and Allen are standing on the porch waiting. Oliver walks up to them. Giovanni stops the car not too far from Oliver's. He stops and looks at Jason, Allen and Oliver through the tinted windows.)

Oliver: She followed me here for a reason... What is that reason?

Jason: Always be on your toes when dealing with Natasha.

Allen: Hey, go inside and wait for us. Natasha might do a drive by or something. If she does, at least one of us will be safe.

(Oliver goes inside. Giovanni is taking pictures of Jason, Allen, and Oliver.)

Jason: Something's not right. Why hasn't she come out yet?

Allen: I think she wants us to go up to the car.

(Jason quickly pulls out a pistol from his pocket and shoots the front window five times. Giovanni ducks and puts the car in reverse. The car quickly backs up. Jason continues to shoot. The car falls down a very small hill and slams into a tree. Giovanni's head is bleeding. Giovanni quickly gets out of the car and runs through the forest with the camera in his hand. Jason and Allen get to the car after he's out of sight.)

Jason: Where is she?! (Shoots three times into the dark forest.)

Allen: Calm down! It's too dark for us to see her. She might sneak up on us.

Jason: So she's trying to lure us into the forest to kill us. She's gonna have to do better than that.

(Police Station hours later)

(Giovanni and Maurice are talking at Giovanni's desk. Giovanni is sitting on the chair and Maurice is sitting on the edge of the desk. It is late so no one is there. Giovanni has a bandage on the side of his head.)

Giovanni: You gonna answer that?

Maurice: I'll call her back later.

Giovanni: Okay.

Maurice: How's that wound?

Giovanni: My shoulder? Whoever took a shot at me had bad aim. It's only a flesh wound.

Maurice: Have you found a positive ID yet?

Giovanni: No. I'm still running their pictures through the database.

Maurice: Let me know if you get anything.

Giovanni: Will do, Captain. (Captain stands up) By the way... I don't think I'll be staying tonight. If I get a positive ID, I'm going back to that cabin tonight.

Maurice: You almost died tonight. Why would you want to go back?

Giovanni: To see what their up to. Erika has major problems with Oliver. I followed him and two men shot at me. Well... One, but that's not the point. I'll update you on the situation.

Maurice: Alright, keep in touch.

(Captain walks away and the computer beeps. Giovanni begins looking through it closely.)

Giovanni: (Thinks out loud) Jason Petrelli: Was suspected of dealing illegal drug. He was later found innocent and the real drug dealer turned himself in. Allen Elicio: He was accused of murder, but was found innocent when the real killer committed suicide and left a note, which contained a confession. I'm not buying it. Something doesn't fit right here. Looks like I'm gonna have to follow you to see if you're really innocent.

(Hanru's room)

(Hanru, Lee, Mamimi, and Meukie are sitting in Hanru's room. Hanru is lying on the bed with a sad expression, Lee is looking out the window, Mamimi is sitting next to Hanru on the bed and Meukie is at the computer desk, looking at Hanru's sword. Only one lamp is on in the room and the door is closed. Everyone and everything is quiet.)

Lee: So what happened at the hospital? Did Camilla... You know...

Hanru: I don't know. She told me all she could about...

(Hanru looks at Meukie then Mamimi. He lies back down.)

Mamimi: What is it?

Hanru: She told me all she could about something. She told me not to tell anyone. After she told me everything, she was still alive. I couldn't sit there and watch her die like that, so I left. She understood. Holly, Tsuki and their father went into the room to stay with her.

Lee: So are you someday gonna tell us what she told you?

Hanru: Maybe someday.

Meukie: Hey, I don't mean to be a buzz-kill, but what kind of sword is this?

Hanru: All I can tell you is that Its a katana with a red case and red strings over the handle.

Meukie: You love swords, yet you know nothing about them?

Hanru: Pretty much. I like martial arts too, but I don't know much about it.

Meukie: Fighting's fun to watch sometimes.

Hanru: Yeah.

Meukie: Yeah... Hey, your uncle doesn't know I'm here right?

Hanru: No he doesn’t. By the way, why aren't you at home? It is pretty late.

Meukie: Well... I'm kinda homeless...

Lee: Jackpot! You can live me, Meukie.

Meukie: No thanks. I'd rather not have to constantly lookout for a perverted boy who's constantly trying to get with me.

Lee: Well if you say yes you won't have that problem anymore.

Meukie: No!

Lee: (Says in Japanese accent) You will say yes to me one of these days.

Hanru: I doubt it. (Everyone chuckles)

Mamimi: Hey I know someone who lives alone in a mansion. She gets lonely a lot so maybe you can move in with her.

Meukie: I'm not a big fan of living with people I don't know. I've learned my lesson.

Hanru: My brother is moving in with his friend Israel. Maybe you can move in too before they get settled in.

Meukie: Maybe... It'll be a last resort for me.

Hanru: I'm just glad I can help. (Cell phone rings) Why do people keep calling me today? (Answers)

Jason: Is Meukie with you?

Hanru: Yeah she's right here.

Jason: We had a problem. We need to use Meukie as bait again.

Hanru: You called me and said Natasha was tailing Oliver to the cabin. What happened?

Jason: I don't know. She got the windows on her car tinted so I couldn't see her face. I shot at her but she drove off and ran into the forest. I know I'm telling you this a few hours late, but we were waiting to see if Natasha would attack our cabin. She hasn't done anything yet so we're headed back to the warehouse. Make sure Meukie is there alone. We don't want Natasha to suspect anything.

(Leo knocks on Hanru's door. Meukie runs to the closet. Leo opens the door and everyone is acting normal.)

Leo: The Sergeant found some suspicious characters in a forest just outside of town. He asked me to join him in a stakeout. I'll be back sometime tomorrow evening, so don't throw any parties while I'm gone.

Hanru: (Thinking) That has to be a coincidence.

Leo: (Answers cell phone when it rings) Sergeant. (Sargent talks for 10 seconds) Sure thing. (Hangs up)

Hanru: Was that about the case?

Leo: Seems one of the guys we're gonna be watching is on the phone with someone right now. The Sergeant asked one of the few officers at the station to record their calls. The Sergeant asked me to go down to the station and get the number. The officer's cell phone died before he could finish reading it.

Hanru: Sounds like you're making good progress. You got this guy caught. What's his name?

Leo: You know I can't explain much to you about my cases.

Hanru: But you always do anyway.

Leo: Alright I'll answer two questions about the case, but that's it. The men we're watching today go by the names of Jason Petrelli and Allen Elicio. The Sergeant followed Oliver to their location. They shot at him, so we're seeing what else they're up to.

Hanru: Did they see his face?

Leo: No the car he was in was tinted. And it was borrowed. Looks like your two questions are answered, nephew. Now I've gotta get to work. Take care of the house. (Closes the door and leaves the bedroom.)

Hanru: Jason, we have a major problem.

Jason: I heard everything. Allen and I will handle it.

Hanru: Well handle it quickly. If my uncle finds out it's me you're talking to, he'll find out I'm connected to serial killers.

Jason: I'll handle it! Allen's at the cabin and Oliver's hiding at the warehouse. I was on my way to the warehouse, but I guess I'm making a detour.

Hanru: No! Switch with Oliver and make him go to the police station and change the records. From what my uncle just told me, I'm guessing there's a reason why they were following Oliver. They already know he's up to no good, so if he goes in and tampers with the phone records, there won't be as much drama.

Jason: Fine! We'll see what happens. I'll call Oliver now and tell him to head to the police station.

(A big rig truck slams into the front of Jason's car. Jason drops the phone and his head slams into the window. The force of the hit caused Jason's car to turn to the side and face the same direction as the rig is. Jason is too dizzy to do anything. His car begins to go under the rig. The gears in the back of the truck begin crushing the car from the back. Jason desperately tries to open the door, but he's to dizzy. He slowly begins to think strait. He hits the gas and turns the wheel. The car is too badly damaged, so when he does this, the car turns out from under the truck sideways. The truck speeds up and the back tires hit the side of the car. The car drives strait heading toward a sidewalk. The car slams into a pole and Jason flies through the front of the windshield. He flies through the front window of a bakery and slams into the counter. He slides across the counter then falls of the end. The rig continues to drive. The driver looks back through the mirror and the driver is revealed to be Natasha. Natasha smiles and continues to drive off. Hanru hangs up his cell phone after hearing everything.)

Hanru: I think... We just lost Jason...

Mimi: What does that mean?

Hanru: I don't know. I... (Puts palm to face) I really don't know.

Hanru Narrating: Soon... It'll all be over soon. This was a long adventure. We've all been through so much. But this is just the beginning. We've all been tested and we know what we can and can't handle. But destiny has brought us all here for a reason. Now that we experience an ending, we must face a new beginning. But what new trials await us? All we can do is make our last choice. I know I can still fix this... I have to fix it. We can all fix our situations.

(Hanru, lee, Mamimi and Meukie are all standing around in Hanru's room. Leo is on his way to the police station to get the number of the person Jason was on the phone with. He opens his glove compartment and pulls out a picture of Ada. He smiles at the picture. He looks up at the road and sees a car crashed into a pole. Erika sits in her dark living with a huge bottle liquor in front of her on her coffee table. She stares at it a few seconds then grabs the bottle. Ada is at her desk in the police station. She hangs up her phone and places it on her desk. She looks at a case file on her desk, then she looks at the other officer's desk in the station. She looks back and forth between the two. Lawrence and Israel are in the apartments they're moving into. Lawrence puts his cell phone down at his waist. The two of them look into a one bedroom apartment then into a two bedroom apartment. Holly, Tsuki and Bruce are standing over the dead body of Camilla. They're all hugging. Holly's cell phone hangs out of her pocket. The screen is giving her an option to call Hanru or not. Hanru and his friends hug each other for a few seconds. They stop and stand in a circle. They all hesitate to put their hands in the center of the circle.
