Life Unexpected.

Siebzehn.

“Miss A, can I go to the bathroom?” Adali heard one of her students ask her. She smiled and put a hand on her hip.

“You can but I can’t let you go.” Adali told the young boy. Travis was his name and he had just lost his front tooth the other day making his smile cuter than ever.

“Oops. May I go to the bathroom please?” Adali smiled and nodded and watched as he ran off toward the restrooms inside the school. The day was nearing to an end and luckily for Adali it had been a good day.

She had woken up early which allowed her to treat herself to a nice breakfast. The kids were excellent today which put her into an even better mood. Her day only had about another 15 minutes before the kids would be called for their buses and cars and Adali didn’t have any extra work to make her stay so she was leaving right along with them.

“Bye Miss A.” The kids chorused as they left the room and Adali waved before slipping on her coat and grabbing her purse and keys. She walked out to the office to sign out and chat with Charlee to waste time for the parking lot to clear out.

“Hey love.” Charlee greeted and Adali looked up from the sign sheet to see her propped up on her desk, sipping some iced tea from McDonalds.

“Hello there.” She finished signing out and walked over to pop into Charlee’s amazingly comfortable chair.

“So tell me what’s new!” Adali told her and Charlee rolled her eyes.

“You know my life isn’t so amazing or fascinating like yours is. I’ve just been living like I usually do- alone and bored.” Adali stuck her tongue out at the woman and crossed her legs.

“You need a man or something.” Adali told her and Charlee sighed.

“Don’t I know it. There just aren’t like any guys worth my time anymore. They seem to be hiding.” Adali giggled and chatted aimlessly with Charlee for another hour or so before bidding her goodbye at their own respective cars.

She drove back to the hotel listening to the radio on full blast. Adali had a lot to think about the night before and it forbade her from sleeping so she forced herself to think it over.

Obviously she needed to talk to Evgeni about what was going on, she felt bad for what she had done but she hoped her would understand since she had so much going on in her head. The whole thing with Mia would hopefully blow over and things could go back to how they were. But Adali wasn’t that naïve, she knew that things don’t always go back to normal after a big fight.
About an hour later Adali was sitting in her hotel room on the bed with her phone in hand. She was planning on calling Evgeni as promised. And then maybe calling Mia- if she was feeling up to it.

“Hello?” Adali heard Evgeni answer. She smiled at the familiar voice.

“Hey, it’s Adali.” Evgeni laughed at the girl and at himself.

“Я думал, вы не собираетесь позвонить.”(I thought you weren’t going to call.) She sighed slightly.

“К сожалению об этом. Так что же вы делаете в пятницу?”(Sorry about that. So what are you doing Friday?) She asked getting straight to the point.

“Ничего, что я не знаю, почему?”(Nothing that I know of, why?)

“Вы хотите сделать обед или что-нибудь?”(Do you want to do lunch or something? I just wanted to talk to you and explain things.)

“Конечно. Я буду ждать вас на Panera Хлеб около 11 утра, звук в порядке?”(Of course. I’ll meet you at Panera Bread around 11am, sound okay?) Adali smiled.

“Я провожу тебя, то г-н Малкин.’(I’ll see you then, Mr. Malkin.) She heard him chuckle on the other line and he said goodbye before she hung up.

Adali was about to dial Mia’s number when a knock at the door made her stop and get up off her bed. She walked over to the door and opened it to see Mia standing there.

“Hey.” She said somewhat awkwardly and Mia smiled slightly.

“Hey, come in.” Mia walked inside and Adali sat in on of the chairs across from Mia.

“So listen….I’m sorry for blowing up on you like that. I was just having a bad day and then you just go off on me….i just took it out on you. And I’m sorry. But you need to realize where I was coming from.” Adali told her, the first to speak up after a few minutes of awkward silence. Mia sighed and moved to sit back in her seat.

“I do understand, but you did say some stuff that was a little far-fetched.” Mia countered. Adali raised an eyebrow.

“Like what Mia?” Adali asked, eyebrow still raised.

“Adali, a lot of what you said was bullshit.” Mia told her. Both Adali’s eyebrows rose in shock as she stood up.

“Mia, are you joking? I admit that I was angry but a lot of it was true.”

“Really Adali? Tell me what was true and what wasn’t.”

“You don’t need to know every detail about me, you need to stop acting like it’s the end of the world when I don’t tell you something, and you need to get off you high horse. Okay?” Adali spat.

“Whatever Adali.” Adali could tell Mia was pissed about being called out on what she does.

“Oh and thanks for inviting Evgeni over when you knew something was going on. You’re such a bitch sometimes.” Adali muttered the last part but apparently Mia heard her and she stood up quickly.

“If you think I’m such a bitch then why don’t you just get the fuck out of my apartment.” Mia yelled, Adali whipped around to face her.

Your apartment. Excuse me but we both had ownership over it, so why don’t you get the fuck out?” Adali countered and Mia was shocked for a moment before a sickly smirk got on her face.

“I pay for the rent, it goes under myname when I pay. Be out in a week.” Mia yelled before storming out of the hotel room and slamming the door. Adali stood frozen before a few tears slipped down her face and she wandered over to her bathroom to cry the rest out.

A few hours later Adali had gotten over losing her best friend and she was sitting in her bed with her laptop in her lap. She was apartment searching while grading papers and making lesson plans. So far none of the apartments fit her budget and met her standards. She was also stressing about having to buy furniture and such for the whole apartment she was looking for.

She sighed and gave up on looking. She turned off her laptop and laid down I bed, attempting to get some sleep- too bad that didn’t happen.

A few days later it was finally Friday. Adali still hadn’t slept very well since she was under so much stress and she looked it, but that didn’t really matter too much to her. Her kids were still as great as ever and she know had a 5 day weekend which she hoped would help her sleep better.

“Adali?” She heard her voice and turned to see Evgeni walking toward her. It was 11am on the dot and she was at Panera Bread waiting for them to call her number. She smiled when she saw him and got up out of her seat to hug him tightly.

“Hey.” She said softly as they let go of their warm hug. He smiled at her and she motioned for him to sit down. He smiled and sat across from her.

“Did you order?” Adali asked him and he nodded handing her his receipt to see he was the number right after herself. She smiled and heard her number be called, she got up and received it while grabbing her smoothie on the way back. She passed Evgeni and she saw him getting his large meal.

She sat down and grabbed a few napkins before digging into her country bread sandwich. She felt a hand on her back and she looked up to see Evgeni walking past her and sitting down. She smiled at him and he chuckled before taking his thumb and wiping across her lower lip.

“Smoothie?” He asked and she blushed before nodding. He chuckled and dug into his meal while Adali took a deep breath and bit her lip.

They ate in a comfortable silence in their quiet corner. Adali had purposely picked a secluded corner so they could talk with privacy and so he wouldn’t be recognized as much. Luckily he hadn’t had any fans or haters come up to him…yet.

Evgeni wiped his hand on his napkin before leaning back against the booth and sighing. He was full and happy as he watched Adali pick up the trash off the table. She looked up and caught his eyes, giving him a bright smile before grabbing his plate full of trash and waltzing over to the trash can. Evgeni couldn’t help but watch as she walked over to the garbage. Her ass was still amazing and he couldn’t help but get slightly hard.

“So I guess I should explain, yeah?” Adali asked as she sat back down. Evgeni nodded and sat back in his seat, becoming incredibly nervous.

“Я был ... Ну, я была в ужасе. Я имею в виду Mia разговаривал со мной в тот же день о том, как пара-й мы действовали, и хорошо, как я думал об этом, мы, как действовать в паре. И это меня испугало. Я чувствую, как мы собираемся отступать, что той же дороге мы были и которые приводят к вы уезжаете. Я просто ... Я думал об этом и знаю, как я отношусь к вам. Я не уверен, если он хорошо это или плохо, но я не могу, что я чувствую. “I was…Well I was scared. I mean Mia had talked to me earlier that day about how couple-y we were acting and well as I thought about it, we do act like a couple. And that scared me. I feel like we’re going back down that same road we were on and that lead to you leaving. I just…I thought about it and I know how I feel about you. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not but I can’t help what I feel.) Evgeni processed what she was saying. He ran a hand through his messy hair.

(Adali you knew from the get go that I like you. My feeling haven’t changed since then and I know part of it was that girl. Her name is Oksana and she’s my ex but I like you and only you. She’s married anyway and she’s expecting a baby which is what we met up to talk about. She means nothing to me compared to you. And Adali you need to know that I will never leave you again, not willingly anyway. I was young and I thought I was saving you, but I regret that and you know that. I’m willing to take any kind of relationship you’ll give me but I won’t promise on not flirting with you and such. That’s part of the package.) Evgeni finished, motioning toward his body and smirking. Adali burst out laughing making Geno laugh as well.

“Вы мне нравитесь Евгений Малкин и там я ничего не могу с этим поделать.”(I like you Evgeni Malkin and there’s nothing I can do about it.) Adali told Geno, a few giggles passing through. A large smile made its way across Evgeni’s face and he got out of his seat to rush over to Adali and pick her up in a tight hug, spinning her around a few times. She giggled loudly and people looked on the couple with small smiles on their faces.

This is how it’s supposed to be.
