Within Shades of Grey Exists a Place... Where Beauty and Pain Reside

A girl ran down the street, the lamps blinked on and off. No sound, but only the sound of her breath. Keep on going. Almost there. The girl thought. Her long red hair bounced off her back. She clutched her right hand to her chest; her so called father had beaten her. Sometimes close to death but somehow she managed to stay alive. Moments later you could hear loud running coming after the girl.

“No! Leave me alone!” shouted the girl.

But the attacker just got closer and closer. Suddenly the girl tripped and the attacker grabbed the girl’s arm.

The attacker was her father.

“Shut up you worthless girl!”

That night the girl was beaten on the brink of death. The worst she had since she moved into the house. Her father just left her laying on the street bleeding heavily.
