You Found Me

"And now, please welcome, Samantha Gilding, singing 'You Found Me!'"

I glanced back at m aunt, who nodded for me to go. I bit my lip nervously and ushered away the butterflies swarming my stomach. Plastering a smile onto my face,I walked out and waved awkwardly at some of the audience of teenage girls and boys jumping up and down screaming my name. I still wasn't used to this...famous thing.

I couldn't make it to the microphone fast enough. I smiled as the music started to play. I never intended on recording this song. Infact walking into Universal Studios, was a pure mistake. And even more so? Someone had set up a record deal for me. But who was it?

I found god
On the corner of first and Amistad
Where the west was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette

I smiled as some started singing along. It still was so real and I couldn't understand why I became famous, or deserved to be.

I Said where you been, he said ask anything
Where were you?
When everything was falling apart
All my days were spent by the telephone
It never rang
And all I needed was a call
That never came
To the corner of first and Amistad

Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me

In the end everyone ends up alone
Losing him, the only one who’s ever known
Who I am, who I’m not, who I want to be
No way to know how long he will be next to me

Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me

Early morning, City breaks
I’ve been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never send me no letters
You got some kind of nerve, taking all I want

Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Where were you where were you

Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lying on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you, where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me

Why’d you have to wait?
To find me, to find me
.

I finished and bowed once, before walking down to sit on a green chair opposite of Ellen's.
"That was awesome! Thanks for coming on our show."
"No, thank you for having me."
