My Calamity

theme song

Penelope Reid:
It had nothing to do with low self esteem, or anything for that matter. It was just the cold hard truth. I wasn't good enough for him. Of all the people he could have chosen, I didn't see why it was me. He wanted love, and marriage, and children. He wanted everything every other person brought up in Harbor Springs wanted. But everyone knew I wasn't looking for any of that. It'd be redundant to say I wasn't his type…but I wasn't. I just wasn't Patrick O'Connell's type.

Patrick O'Connell:
People will always wonder why I chose her. Why out of everyone in the whole of Harbor Springs, I chose her, when I knew the rumors. But I was eighteen; I'd seen adolescence, and now I wanted to be an adult, do adult things, build my future. And I wanted her to be apart of it; there was no future for me without her. People thought me crazy for pursuing her, but I was just like any other guy. We see it, we want it, we get it. It was simple. I wanted Penelope Reid.
