The Poison

“Mummy” her voice filled the room. Her small feet padded on the wooden flooring. I threw the book I was looking at under my bed and stood up as the door opened. A smile spread across my face as I saw her. My baby girl.

She got his brown eyes and facial features apart from her nose. She has my nose and my light brown hair. It bounced on her shoulders with ever step she took. The soft curls moving with such grace. A small smile spread across her face, little dimples showing along with the glint in her eye.

“Yes sweetie?”

“I’m hungry, come on ,mummy” She pulled my hand and dragged me with her to the kitchen. She may be the child of a vampire but she eats some human too. Only a little but still some. I got her out some bread and made her a peanut and jelly sandwich along with a sippy cup with warm blood substitute. I placed the sandwich on a plastic plate and set it down in front of her. I grabbed a glass of the red liquid for myself and sat down beside her.

I don’t think it can get better than this.
