If It Hurts This Much Then It Must Be Love

The ceremony seemed to go in a blur but Jack managed to say “I do” on time and me and the guys stood smiling next to him. Everyone was beginning to relax and settle in for dinner but this was the time for me and the guys to start getting nervous!
“Alex I can’t do this, public speaking is just not my thing” Zack said staring at me his face etched with worry.
“Zack it’ll be okay; just say what we rehearsed and stare at someone you know in the crowd so it’s like you are just talking to them” I replied trying to keep him as calm as I could; although Rian’s pacing was not helping the matter.
“Can everyone take their seats please, and your starter will be served” a mans voice boomed out from the empty room as everyone made their way inside.
I watched as groups swarmed to their tables – all circle with eight people around them – looking for their name tag and swapping them around so they could sit beside who they wanted to. My eyes floated to the huge straight line of tables that sat furthest away – this is where the bride, groom and all the important people were sitting. In the middle sat a huge three tiered cake that Jacks mom had designed and decorated; I wanted to run up and eat it all I was that hungry.
I slowly made my way over to the table saying hello and smiling to all the people I knew – which seemed to be everyone – my face was hurting from all the smiling. I looked up to see if I was anywhere near the table, but I was instead greeted with the one thing I didn’t want to ever see again in my life. Callie. I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t move, I stood gawping at her and Stephen – who had his arms round her – for more than a minute.
“Oh hey Alex” Stephen spoke cheerfully.
Does this boy have no shame, he stole my girl – broke my heart while at it – and he wants to act all friendly with me. I couldn’t take it anymore; I turned sharply and forced my way passed everyone. Everyone stared at me but made a pathway for me, a few people said my name but the last thing I heard before I sped off in a jog was the voice of Julie shouting “What is that bitch doing here?”
