Falling for Someone Unexpected

Falling For Who? Chapter 14

I watched Zane make eggs as he told me about his human life.
He fell in love once before, but he was turned into a vampire and was forced to break up with her via snail mail.
He was heart broken.
Other than that he had a good human life.
His life as a vampire seemed much more interesting.
He’s traveled all over the U.S and has lived with so many different people.
The reason why he’s moved around so much is because his Master found him.
He assured me that his Master doesn’t know where he is, but something tells me other wise.
As we eat our eggs Zane continued to talk.
There were thousands of vampires around the world. His master was the most powerful one, so everyone was out to get him.
Zane said that the more he hangs out with humans the more he’ll smell like one to protect him.
Vampires don’t attack humans unless they’re hungry.
So blending in with us, humans, is very important to him. They can’t smell him if he’s surrounded my humans.
The only thing that brings out his smell is the snow. But he didn’t learn that till a few months ago.
After breakfast, we headed to the living room to watch some T.V. and kiss during the commercials.
The week blew by fast and school started again.
Matt and Liz picked up me and Zane for school.
Nothing exciting happened as usual.
Weeks later my wishes were granted and the last day of school came around.
Zane and I walked home hand and hand talking watching the snow fall.
“What do you want as a Christmas present?” he asked.
“You don’t have to get me anything,” I said.
“Bullshit, what do you want?”
I laughed. “Anything. What about you?”
“I just want you,”
“No fair,”
“Tough,” he said kissing me.
I smiled and kissed back.
Zane pulled away and lifted his nose in the air.
“What I asked?”
“We’re being followed,”
“Huh?”
“I’ve been found…” he whispered. “Damn him,”
“Who?” I asked.
“Forget it, just go home,” he said looking me in the eye.
“But I can protect you,”
“No you can’t,”
“You said they don’t attack humans unless they’re hungry,”
“Blake, I’m telling you to go home now!” he said.
I kissed him. “Be safe,” I whispered before heading off.
