Falling for Someone Unexpected

Falling For Who? Chapter 9

Zane and I kept our distance.
I didn’t want to kiss him again, even through I don’t mind it, it’s too weird.
He could possible be my brother.
How gross would that be?
Anyway, we seemed to be doing a good at it.
I forget he leaves here most of the time.
The weather is getting colder and colder.
Thanksgiving was right around the corner.
We had off from school now, due to the blizzard outside and Thanksgiving break.
I sat in the living room in front of the fire place with a warm blanket around my shoulders and a cup of hot chocolate in my hands.
I watched the T.V. as my mom started to prep for Thanksgiving.
My favorite holiday.
I just really love the food and the family time together, even through it’s just me and my parents, but this year we have Zane.
I wonder if he will eat with us on Thanksgiving.
How is it that I’ve never seen Zane eat?
He’s been living with us for the past three or so months.
I sighed.
The thought of him frustrated me.
He’s a mystery that he won’t let me solve. He’s a secret that is hidden. He’s a diary that is locked and needs the key to open it.
Why won’t he admit to me that he’s different?
I won’t tell anyone.
Just then Zane walked out of our room and sat down next to me.
“It’s so cold,” he muttered.
“I know,” I sighed as he expended his hands to the fire to warm them.
“So, how are you?”
“Fine, and yourself?”
“Same,”
I nodded my head. “You know, what every secret your hiding, you can tell me. I won’t tell anyone, promise,”
“Blake, I have no idea what you’re talking about,”
“Cut the crap for one second,”
“I’m sorry I’m not this amazing person you think I am,”
“I know you are. You’re not normal,”
“Yes, I am,”
“Then bite me, on the neck,” I said showing him my neck.
He bit his lips and shook his head, while still looking at my neck.
“Well?” I asked.
“No, crazy,”
“You know you want to, just do it,”
“That’s what she said,” he muttered.
“Shut up! Fine, if you’re so normal then eat an apple, right now,”
“I’m not-”
“I don’t care, eat it!” I snapped.
“No, I don’t have to prove anything to you,”
“Is that so?”
“Yes,”
“Whatever, you and both know I’m right,”
“I know your wrong,”
“And I know you’re in denial,”
“You’re so annoying,” he said getting up.
“Then what the hell are you?”
“A human being, who is tired of your bull shit,”
“Then, why don’t you leave,”
“I will,”
“Good!”
“So, this time next week when Mrs. Tyler comes and asks me if I want to stay, I’m going to say no,”
My heart skipped a beat. It was that time already.
Despite, what my heart was saying, I said. “Good!”
“Glade we agree,” he said and stormed away.
I watched him leave and lied down by the fire.
Stupid Zane.
