Lines so Well Rehearsed

“What the hell is everyone staring at?” I groaned in frustration as I sat down in the middle of the lounge room in our dorm building, after four classes, I was exhausted out of my mind, I sprawled out on the couch, laying my upper body on Tom who sat beside me as I stretched out. I kicked my legs in the air closely examining my silky legs as the four of us lounged around. Bill sat on a recliner to the side, and Georg and Gustav were sitting on a love seat across from Bill, around us, kids were watching movies on the plasma’s scattered on the walls throughout the overly large room, others were eating, some were playing video games, almost all were staring at me. I rolled my eyes.

“It’s because you’re with us” Georg blatantly reminded me waving his arm nonchalantly in the air as he shrugged his shoulders, I sat up a bit, leaning up, setting my hand on Tom’s knee to steady myself as I looked up to get a better look at him. Georg flashed a confident grin raising his eyebrows suggestively at me as a group of Freshman hovered nearby staring at the five of us with open mouths.

“Not to mention that you busted a cap and broke that hoe’s nose last night” Tom added with a laugh, I turned around to see him grinning proudly at me, I scoffed openly and plopped myself back into his lap, he let out a mock groan of pain and I laughed as I went back to examining my legs, there was nothing else to do as I began rubbing them up and down, entertaining myself with it’s smoothness.

“Stop doing that” Tom said smacking my hand away agitatedly, I looked at him angrily, smacking his chest in protest as he settled into the couch sending a mock glare in my direction. Tom placed his hand on my legs and began to stroke them, no doubt trying to figure out why I had been doing it up until he had smacked my hand out of the way. I could tell that he was entertained by the smoothness like I had been. I smirked hugely, settling my head deeper and more comfortably in his lap.

“Feels good doesn’t it?” I asked him with a smirk, the nod of his head as he
smiled hugely almost made me burst out in laughter. I tried to contain it as I swatted his hand away, he looked down at me haughtily but I shrugged my shoulders anyway, Gustav Bill and Georg chortled with laughter as Tom crossed his arms pouting slightly as he did so.

“Classes are going to be a pain in the ass this year” Bill mumbled gloomily as he looked down at his fingernails, pouting slightly with a look of disappointment, I tried to smile at him encouragingly, but it was no use, even I knew that it was going to be hell, all those AP classes to worry about all while trying to keep a social life was going to be a lot to handle.

“Oh Bill take your own advice that you told me this morning. ’You’re not dumb, stop being a lazy ass and suck it up you big baby’ ” Tom rolled his eyes at Bill, uncrossing his arms as he began to run his fingers through my hair, Bill looked at him haughtily, mouth open in shock he glared his brother down. Tom wasn’t even paying attention to his brother as he examined my hair running through his fingers.

“Tom’s right Bill, suck it up, the five of us will get through it together” I said patting a stray hair away from my eyes as I looked at him, Bill looked at me skeptically but finally smiled at me in surrender and nodded his head. “And I mean isn’t Sadie coming next week”

“Week after actually” Bill corrected me sitting up in his seat and reaching for a gossip magazine that was abandoned on the coffee table, I nodded my head as he began rummaging through the pages. The four of us sat there in silence and I closed my eyes.
Last night Bill had found out that Sadie was in fact m y M.I.A. roommate. It was a totally freaky coincidence and even now, I wasn’t sure whether to be super excited, or super freaked out.

“Get over it Bill, stop being a baby, you’re lover will be here sooner than you know it” Tom told him swatting his hand, squinting his eyes in annoyance, to our side, both Georg and Gustav smirked, and Bill sat there gaping at them, I puckered my lips together, attempting to stay out of the current scuffle. It was cold in here, and seeing as I was only wearing some shorts and a light top bearing my mid drift, I shivered involuntarily, snuggling closer into Tom’s embrace.

“Stop calling me out on my shit Tom. Why don’t you stop talking about how amazing Ronnie is and just ask her on a date already?” Bill retorted in annoyance rolling his eyes, Tom looked alarm, glaring his brother down as his hand stopped playing with my hair, Bill seemed to regret saying what he did as he covered his mouth and looked at me with wide eyes, Gustav and Georg sat rigid in their places looking at me anxiously. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion staring at them.

“Well what the hell are you doing Tom did I tell you to stop!” I asked him scrunching my nose in annoyance, as I looked up at him and shook my head from side to side. Tom looked shocked as he slowly, moved his hand towards my hair. I closed my eyes, not caring about whatever Bill had said. If Tom liked me, then he liked me. But I wasn’t about to have him say something if he didn’t mean it. And especially if he didn’t want to. “You guys can stop gawking at me. Stop being like everybody else.”

I could head everyone laugh as I settled back enjoying the feel of Tom’s fingers in my hair, scratching at my scalp as they slowly traveled away from it and through the strands of my hair. It was all very relaxing. And I couldn’t help but smile. Yeah I was acting like a little immature kid. But I didn’t give a damn. I could hear Bill laughing at me, followed by the rest of the boys, and I internally rolled my eyes. But not bothering to open my eyes and show them. After a while, the boys and I got tired of sitting around the room and decided to go out and do something. All of us piled into Tom’s car as he drove down the hills towards the town.

“So where exactly are we going again?” Gustav asked with a confused face as he sat rigidly in between Georg and I. Chortling out in laughter I ran a hand through my hair as I leaned my elbow against the door handle and looked outside at the passing trees. Tom and Bill had rallied us into the car promising we would have fun. But all of us knew that their type of fun, wasn’t exactly conventional. Possibly illegal, maybe even dangerous. I sat back in my seat smiling. This was going to be fun.

“Don’t worry about it Gustav, sit back relax, we’re going to grab a bite to eat, maybe go for a walk at the beach, maybe something else” Tom trailed off suggestively, smirking hugely as he looked at Bill sitting beside him in the passenger who was smirking the exact same smirk at his brother. Gustav looked alarm at Tom’s suggestive tone. But non the less, he sat back in his seat relaxing a bit as he went. Beside him Georg smiled goofily as he rubbed the tip of his nose.

Soon enough, Tom parked his car at a local diner and the five of us piled out of his car one by one. We were greeted by an elderly woman and ushered to a booth in the back of the restaurant. The fifties theme was perfected to a t with all of the posters, and memorabilia that looked genuine and authentic. The Beach Boys were blasting through the speakers, and I danced in my seat as we waited for our waitress to arrive. A couple seconds later, a blonde girl, about our age, walked over to our table in her cute little uniform, she looked at all of us with a kind smile, but even I didn’t fail to notice the glint in her eye, the way her smile grew twice as big as she laid her eyes on Tom. I almost rolled me eyes. Almost.

“Welcome to Richie’s Diner. Can I get you guys anything to drink?” She asked us, her gaze not once leaving Tom’s who sat beside me. She ran a hand through her hair as she kept looking at him with bright eyes. I fought back my laughter, as did Bill and Georg as she attempted to inconspicuously hitched her dress up higher and unbuttoned, not one, but two of the buttons revealing her not too impressive assets. Beside me Tom looked to me, a slight blush on his face, but most of all, a look of annoyance, of embarrassment as he brushed the tip of his nose with his hand.

“I’ll have an Iced tea” Georg ordered with a laugh, he scanned his menu in his hand as she somehow wrote down his order without looking away from Tom. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, which the waitress probably didn’t notice as she licked her lips at him. I scoffed out loud, quickly covering it up as I cleared my throat, putting my hand on it pretending I had something stuck. She flashed a dirty look at me, glaring me down for a split second before smiling back at Tom. I rolled my eyes, not caring whether she had seen it or not.

“Make it two” Gustav nodded his head in agreement. And once again she nodded her head and scribbled it down without looking.

“I’ll have a Root Beer Float” Bill said with a huge smile clapping his hands together in excitement. All of us laughed at it. Except for our waitress who was too busy being rude and gaping openly at Tom.

“I’ll have a Lemonade” I told her not bothering to look up as I grabbed my menu off of the table, I blew a piece of hair out of my face and Tom laughed at me, I smacked his chest playfully, sticking my tongue out at him. From the corner of my eye I saw our waitress glare openly at me, like a tiger, she stood there as if she was ready to pounce on me and strangle me with her bare hands any second.

“And I guess I’ll just have a Coke” Tom said running a hand over his face and rubbing his cheek. I looked up to find the waitress practically having an orgasm as she let out a low moan and gripped the edge of the table with her hands. This girl was absolutely ridiculous. Beside me, Tom looked down awkwardly scratching the back of his head with a disgusted look. Poor kid, he never caught a break.

“Dude those Root Beer Floats are nasty . I don‘t know how you could like them” I told Bill grimacing at the memory of it’s flavor, I stuck out my tongue in disgust and made an eckk sound as laughed at his expression, one that looked shocked and offended. He obviously loved them.

“Uhhh no they’re not. You’re obviously an idiot. They’re super delicious.” I looked up to find waitress girl leaning her hips against the table arms crossed as if she was our best friend, not our waiter, I looked at her with raised nostrils, a disturbed look on my face to mimic how I felt on the inside. Who was this chick that acted like she was a part of the gang. And not to mention insulting the customers, I rolled my eyes but chose to ignore her and continue looking at my menu. The table was silent as the rest of them either looked at their menu’s or each other.

“I know right. I’ve always thought they were the nastiest things on the face of the planet” Tom defended ignoring the waitress all together, he turned his face to look at me a smile on his face as he stuck his tongue out of his mouth and raised his eyebrows. I raised mine back at him, and let out a laugh as Bill huffed in protest at the fact that we were ganging up on him. Georg and Gustav both looked humored, Georg puckered his lips together clearly enjoying himself as Gustav sat leaning back in his seat, biting down on his lip.

“Oh, well that’s what I meant, they’re totally disgusting” Waitress girl nodded her head sticking her chest out and tilting her head while batting her eyelashes with an open mouth in an attempt to be seductive. A burst of laughter fell over us, and I looked over at Bill with shocked eyes as he sat in his seat openly laughing at her. I couldn’t help but join in after Tom started up. And soon enough all of us were laughing at an angry waitress.

“What the hell are you laughing at you dumb bimbo?” She asked with an angry look, she slammed her hands against the table harshly causing not only me, but Tom and Georg to jump back in out seats, I settled more comfortably in the booth as she glared me down. I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows and look at her with disgust. I didn’t know why she was doing this, but she had no reason to be attacking me. All I was doing was sitting here having lunch with my friends. Last time I checked that wasn’t a crime.

Out of nowhere she looked at Tom, batting her eyes flirtatiously at him, “ So where do you go to school? I go to Laguna High. The hottest public school around.” She tilted her chest towards him, attempting to look seductive. It didn’t work.

“I’m sorry, aren’t you supposed to be like getting us drinks or something?” I asked her with squinted eyebrows, tilting my head to the side, she stood up straight, looking at me haughtily as she sneered openly at me. I shoved my head to the side again, more violently this time and she let out a huff of anger as she turned around and started towards the counter.

“Dumb bitch” She mumbled, well attempted to mumble, but I heard her, loud and clear, and I wasn’t the only one by the looks of it. Bill stood there with an open mouth glaring at the back of her head, Tom sat there with crossed arms and furrowed eyebrows a look of disgust on not only his face, but Georg’s and Gustav’s as well as they sat in their spots, mouths open in shock just like Bill’s. How dare she. If she thought she was going to get away with that she was seriously mistaken.

“What did you say?” I said loudly, harshly at her, she stood frozen in her spot, I cleared my throat, leaning my elbows on the counter, as she turned around, her previous look of hate and anger replaced by an innocent and loving gaze, her eyes twinkling at me as she smiled, I rolled my eyes at her as she came closer to the table. When she reached us she put one of her badly manicured hands on the table as she looked at me.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about sweetie. I didn’t say anything” She said in fake sweetness, and once again she looked at Tom, I swear, she was way in over her head if she thought that Tom would really give her the time of day. Especially when he was openly looking at her with disgust. She scratched the back of her head, clearing her throat awkwardly as she pushed her chest out in his direction. I openly gagged.

“Yes you did. I heard you. We all did. You called me a dumb bitch while you were walking away. Don’t act stupid” I told her harshly, glaring her up and down from her badly dyed hair to her badly pedicured toes. She shifted uncomfortably under my gaze, and then, out of nowhere she sneered at me, but unlike last time, I didn’t flinch, which made her glare falter, but it was replaced quickly as she inched closer to me from the table. From the corner of my eye I could see people staring, most noticeably her boss, who stood at the counter with crossed arms watching us.

“Listen you delusional bitch. I can call you whatever the fuck I want. You have no damn proof. You’ll just sound like a total psychotic hooker.” She practically yelled, talking so loud is was heard from across the restaurant. I sat back in my seat crossing my arms, a smug smirk on my face as her boss began walking towards us. There was no need for me to say anything else, she had done enough damage herself. She looked confused, but that didn’t stop her from quickly looking at Tom and attempting to smile seductively at him. This girl was seriously way too desperate. It was overly pathetic.

“I’m sorry is there a problem here?” The hostess who had led us to the booth smiled kindly at us, interrupting our waitress who quickly stood up straight and looked at us kindly, like such a sweetheart, it was vomit inducing, I realized that I wasn’t the only one fighting back a gag as I looked at Tom. Waitress girl, stood behind her boss glaring at me with poisonous eyes, and all I did was raise my eyebrows at her. Her boss turned around, and like some kind of freak of nature she went back to looking like Grease’s Sandy before she laid her eyes on her.

“Nope. Not at all Lanet” She said with a perky grin. And even though she looked all seriousness as she blinked innocently, even her boss could see through the fakeness as she rolled her eyes, resting her hand on her hip as she looked at us with concern. I didn’t open my mouth, and waitress girl smirked hugely. Making me want to punch her even more in the face. I wouldn’t say anything to her boss, but she could count on getting her ass knocked out after her shift ended.

“Actually Lanet there is” I looked to Tom in confusion as he sat straight up getting ready to address the elderly woman talking to us. “ Please excuse my language. But not only did she call my friend an idiot, a dumb bimbo, and a delusional bitch, but she even went as far as to call her a delusional hooker.”

“I had no idea, I’m very sorry, please, I’ll get you another waitress” Lanet told us with a look of concern, a look of remorse covered her face and it broke my heart to see that she was truly sad about the whole thing. I just sat there, puckering my lips together. Waitress girl looked scared as Tom cleared his throat to speak again.

“Actually, we’re just going to find another place to eat. I would rather not be in the same building as her. Thank you though. We’ll come back some other time.” Tom said ushering me out of the booth, practically pushing me out as a matter of fact. Waitress girl looked as if she had been slapped at the sight of Tom’s arm around my shoulders as we walked past her. And just to make her even more mad then se already was I Tom and I stopped walking right beside her. Both of us casting a wink at her, Tom leaned down and placed another kiss on my neck, something I realized we did a lot, before trailing up to give my cheek a quick peck as we started towards the door.

“Just a word of advice Lanet. I think you should consider hiring people like her.” Bill stopped walking in front of her to address the elderly owner of the restaurant as he nudged his chin towards her with a look of pure disgust. “Because this restaurant is amazing, and people like her, definitely make the experience un enjoyable”

“I swear Tom this is totally ridiculous, you’re a total crazy wench psychotic stalker magnet” I told him with a playful hip shove as we exited the restaurant, the cold beach air hit us directly and I shivered in Tom’s embrace as he walked us towards the car.

He stopped next to the passenger opening it for me, and in one swift movement, Tom took his jacket off, offering it to me, he held it up as I put it on, it was loose on me, very loose, the arms were long, along with the length, but it wasn’t unbearable, and as a matter of fact, it felt like a perfect fit, well for a guys jacket anyway. And I crossed my arms, suddenly warm looking up at him happily. “But you’re also a total life saver. Aren‘t you going to get cold though?”

“I know I’m a psycho attracter, and it sucks. But ever since you came along, it seems like my luck is changing. Seems like having you makes them back off. So if that means giving you my jacket, walking with you, keeping you company, giving you a couple kisses here and there I’m not complaining” He told me with a smile, I looked around, Bill Gustav and Georg were across the street walking towards the beach without us, Tom and I alone, he looked down at me with a smile, one that I couldn’t help but return, even as my heart began to beat faster and faster, his face inching closer and closer towards mine. I felt like it was beating out of my chest as his hot breath hit my face, his body pressed against mine, my hands roved over his chest, stopping over his heart as I felt the constant thud against my palm. And then it happened, Tom’s lips came into contact with mine for the first time and I felt like my heart would explode from the feelings that coursed through my body as my lips melded with his. They were soft, his lips they were, and his lip ring felt weird against my skin, weird, but totally amazing, his arms snaked around my waist, pulling me even closer to him, and my hands wove around his neck as his tongue outlined the shape of my lips, enticing me to open my mouth to him, which I did more than gladly, his tongue slipped into my mouth, both of ours meeting halfway as they joined in an all too erotic dance. The kiss was slow calming, but not an ounce boring. As one of his hands trailed up and down my body, finally resting as he cupped my butt, pulling me closer, his tongue massaging mine, I felt like we were the only two people on the planet. And I liked it.
