Have you ever wondered how an orphanage really is?

Let me tell you, my name is Jennifer Helen Davis I am 16 years old and I am an orphan.

When I was two my parents decided that they just didn’t want me anymore so they drove miles and miles away from home and left me at the door step of the orphanage I now know as my home.

In total I guess I have been adopted 16 times but I always come back, at first it was because I wasn’t what they were looking for, they just didn’t want me anymore and once I was given back because the woman was pregnant and they just couldn’t handle two kids.

By the time I was 9 I got fed up being sent from house to house so I started acting up and just being rude which lead to me not being adopted that many times.

Now that I am 16 nobody wants me, after you turn 14 nobody wants you. They always wants the babies, toddler or kids not teenagers or soon to be adults which means that after your 14 all you can do is wait for your 18th birthday so you can leave unless you get lucky and get adopted.

What I want you to know is that not all orphanages are like in the books or movies, here at Huntington Beach orphanage we don’t get abused or raped daily. For us older kids this is our home now and we have accepted it and we live a normal life. We go to school, jobs, church, movies, restaurant, ect.

The school I go to is Huntington Beach High School and I guess it’s an ok school I just can’t wait to be done. You see when I get older I want to be a photographer and take pictures of everyone and everything.

One thing that makes me pretty normal is my high school crush Matthew Charles Sanders.

His father is a billionaire but it’s not the money I like, it’s the boy himself. He has the most perfect body, awesome tattoos and piercings, I love when he smiles and shows off his dimples and the way he interacts with people.

See everyone thinks that just because he is rich and popular he’s a jerk but he’s not.

I remember when first time we talked, it was in PE and we were playing basketball. I couldn’t get the damn ball into the net so he showed me some tricks and then when I tried I scored. I had a big smile on my face for ages after that.

Being an orphan is not always that bad but sometimes it can be hell.
