‹ Prequel: Accidents Happen

Tragic Romance

Going Home.

I woke up the next day with Zacky tangled with me. His right arm was wrapped around my bare back and as I pulled away his other arm came up to hold me to him as well. He grinned with his eyes still shut, tight, and I placed kisses along his jaw.
"Morning, Zacky," I whispered between kisses.
His eyes cracked open and he leaned his head down to capture my lips with his, "Morning, Baby,"
I slid out of his arms and stood up, stretching. I heard Zacky groan from behind me and I smirked walking over to my closet. I pulled a grey 'off the shoulder' shirt from it's hanger and put it on. I then pulled a pair of black basketball shorts from the floor of my closet and tugged those up, spinning around to face Zack when I was done getting dressed. He laid in bed, the sheet resting over his hips and he was watching me with a smirk on his face.
"What?" I questioned, folding my arms over my chest.
"Nothing," His smirk was still in place as he sat up and reached for his boxers from the ground. I walked around to his side of the bed and wrapped my arms around his neck, playing with the hair on the back of his neck. He tilted his head up to look at me, his green eyes swimming in a sea of mischief and that gorgeous smirk was still on his face. I smashed my lips on his and then abruptly he pulled away and yanked his pants on. The door cracked open a minute later. Little Zacky stuck his head around and grinned when his Dad waved him in.
"Morning baby," I greeted and pulled him to me in a hug.
"It's noon, Mommy," He told me and laughed as Zack picked him up and basically threw him on the messy bed behind us.
'Kaboom!" Zack shouted as Zacky hit the bed.
Zacky's hit pitch giggles erupted as his father continued to tickle him. I couldn't help but smile as they continued to roll around.
"Alright, Alright," I mediated, pulling Little Zacky from the bed and setting him on his feet next to me.
"Mom!" He whined rushing to jump back onto his father.
I rolled my eyes playfully and grabbed ahold of him again. I held him in front of me, my hands on his shoulders, as Zack grabbed his shirt from my floor and stood up.
"I'll be right back, I need a shower," He looked into my eyes and smirked before rustling his son's hair. When he had completely disappeared from sight I turned Zacky around, "Where are your uncles?"
"In the living room, they said not to bother you and Dad," He looked to the floor sheepishly.
"So you didn't listen did you?" I asked, trying to cover my smile as I crouched down in front of him.
"I'm sorry,"
I tossed him over my shoulder, playfully, "Well then, let's let your uncles deal with that,"
"No, no, no!" He repeated, gently punching my back.
"Hey guys," I called from the top of the stairs, "Look what I found in my room,"
They turned to look at us and Brian jumped up, "I'll take that," He said as he climbed the stairs. Zacky grabbed onto my shirt when Brian tried to pull him from me. But it wasn't hard to pry him from me.
"Mommy!" He shouted as Brian carried him away from me. I laughed and Bri put him down on the couch, sitting next to him nonchalantly. Zacky kept looking from Brian to Johnny who was on his other side, nervously. I took a seat on the top step watching and waiting for something to happen. When nothing did I diverted my gaze to the t.v, losing myself in something on MTV2.
Zacky's screaming caught my attention and I laughed as both Brian and Johnny jumped on him, tickling him again. Matt sat quietly on the floor, watching the t.v and pretending to be oblivious to the shouting behind him.
Zack came and sat next to me on the stairs, his hand finding mine and squeezing tightly.
"I'm going to miss you," I whispered to him, not looking away from his brothers tickling our son.
I felt him nestle his chin into my hair as he rested it on my shoulder, "I'll miss you too,"
I gripped his hand even harder once more before I let go. He got up and walked over to the guys on the couch. "Stop it," He said, yanking Johnny and Bri from Zacky, "You guys want to go out for lunch?"
"Yeah," Matt said, heaving himself from the floor.
Brian stood up and held his hand out to Little Zacky, pulling him up as well, "Where to?"
They all looked to me and I rolled my eyes, "How about Delmonico's?"
They all nodded and I took Zacky upstairs to get him dressed.
"No," I told him as he pulled on a pair of shorts.
"But you're wearing them, Mom!" I pulled a pair of jeans from his dressed and handed them to him. "Put them on," I demanded as I went to my own room to put pants on.
20 minutes later all of us were piled into my tiny car and were headed down town to one of my favorite restaurants.
"Hey," I warned as the guys started to get out of the car, "Be good,"
"Yes Mother," They all replied in sync and I laughed, despite my seriousness.
"Okay, lets go eat!" I cheered.
The restaurant was pretty busy and thanks to the guys' celebrity status we got seated relatively quickly.
Once we ordered, the guy started messing around, blowing the straw wrappers at each other and shoving each other around.
"Guys," I warned and they all stopped.
"Sorry," Brian murmured, taking a sip of his beer to hid his smile.
The waitress came back with our food and Zacky slapped Johnny when used a really bad pick up line. The waitress just blushed and walked away. The guys kept joking around loudly and I couldn't stop laughing.
"Alright, alright! Stop it before Little Zacky chokes on his food," I told them and the laughter started up again.
Lunch flew by with fun and games and soon enough we were back at the apartment all four guys up stairs packing as Little Zacky and I sat at the kitchen table working on his homework.
"I did it, Mom," Zacky held up his looseleaf paper with the letters 20 - 30 written there, I smiled at him.
"Can you go from 30 to 40 now?" He just nodded and returned his attention back to the paper. I cussed under my breath and thought about Avenged leaving tomorrow and I knew this would be the attitude Zacky would have for awhile after Zack went back to California tomorrow.
"Done," He murmured, "Can I go play now?"
I looked at the spelling worksheet he had left and nodded, "Go on, go play with Daddy,"
He grinned and ran out of the kitchen. I sighed, Zack was leaving tomorrow after he and the guys dropped Zacky at school and I couldn't help but wish that time would freeze right now. I buried my face in my arms and rested them on the table.
Every time Zacky comes to visit we get closer and closer and it gets harder and harder to say goodbye. And nowadays it's agony for Zacky to release his father and watch him walk away to California.
"Maxx?" Johnny called softly from the door, "We're going to go play baseball at the park. You want to come?"
I nodded and stood up, wrapping my arms around Johnny as we walked to the park. I watched as they ran around the bases, hit balls, and tagged each other out, well, except for Little Zacky, they always let him get all the way around by pretending to fumble, miss, and kick the ball father away then it actually went. And by the time the son started going down, Zack and the guys walked over to me, carrying Little Zack in his arms.
"Ready to go home?" I questioned and they nodded.
