You Made Me the Happiest of All
Chapter 10
We entered school with his arm around me. I tried to hide my sorrow from the death of Tobi. The worst part was, he had a boyfriend that he loved very much. His name was Aaron, and he was a sweetie. He was someone you'd feel guilty about breaking their heart. Aaron went to school with us, same grade, same age. He had been sick the past few days and missed school. I was ready to comfort him and cry with him. He loved Aaron to death, and they were saving up cash to make a trip to Canada and make their love official. Marriage...something I knew I wanted. The sacred joining of two people who promise love each other...forever. I immediately saw Aaron sitting on the floor of the hallway with a blank look on his face. I removed Craig's arm from around me and ran to him. I wrapped my arm around him and he rested his head on my shoulder. Tears began streaming down our faces.
He cried, "He loved me...I loved him. He made a promise...forever. Why?!?"
I sobbed as he spoke of his love for Tobi, "I know you loved him. He loved you during his mortal life, and will love you during his time as an angel. You and I both know that's what he is...an angel."
He only cried more.
"Aaron, sweetie, please don't cry. Only remember, he wants you to continue living your happy life. Even at a time like that, he thought of you," I assured him.
"You're...the...best," he replied between sobs.
I kissed his forehead gently and comforted him. Craig watched sympathetically. He felt our pain.
(Craig's POV)
As I watched Dani sob, I wanted to wash her pain away. Take it away from her and I bear it. I would suffer for her, die for her, as long as she would be mine, I would go through any pain.
(Danielle's POV)
"Aaron, go rinse your face and you can hang out with me and Craig, Haylee, Court, Bella, Rose and Craig's buddies. I don't want you to be alone," I told him.
He nodded and walked to the men's restroom. I walked into Craig's arms and hugged him.
"You don't mind if Aaron tags along, do you?" I questioned, worried of his response.
"Of course not," he answered.
Aaron returned, forcing a smile upon his face. We walked toward the cafeteria and directed Aaron to our friends. He was already friends with Haylee, Court, Rose and Bella. Craig stood there and I looked up at him. His back was against the wall and I was in front of him. I placed my hands on his shoulders and kissed him. His tongue entered my mouth and mine entered his. His hands were placed on my hips and mine were around his neck. I then heard someone cough. I turned my head and saw Court.
"I thought you said," Court trailed off.
My eyes were wide and Craig looked confused.
"Let's go..." I told Craig walking with him hand-in-hand to our table.
I sat on Craig's lap at the table. Everyone seemed happy we were together. I, of course was happy as well. I needed to tell Craig everything. What I've been through, what I've somehow overcome and what I can handle. I had to let him know...now.
"Craig, I want to talk to you," I told him.
He smiled, "Sure thing."
We got up and walked outside. We sat in the grass and I began to tell my story. It was the truth...it wasn't really a story. I told him about Corey and what he shouldn't do around me. Which included: no alcohol, no drugs and no fighting. Though I was a wild girl, I didn't want fighting. He agreed. What a sweet angel. I loved him. I kissed his lips gently and I wanted to be with him forever. I wrapped my arms around his neck and I lay down on the grass. He was over me kissing my neck.
"You have no clue how much I need you with me," I told him.
He grinned, "I need you with me too."
Our lips met and the bell rung. I sighed.
"Hey, we missed yesterday, we should go today...," he explained.
We got up together and went to 1st period. The whole day went by quick. It was mainly full of statements and questions like: "Oh my god! You two are finally together?!?", "FINALLY!", "This is great!" and "Do you know how hard we've tried to get you two together?!?". We all went to Craig's place after school, including Aaron. We were all watching America's Next Top Model for no reason.
Eric blurted out, "I can beat any of those chicks!"
We stared at him confused.
"Prove it!" I yelled throwing a pillow at him.
He threw it back saying, "Fine! I will."
That turned into a little fashion show. Eric is just like that. Bella, Rose, Court, Matt and I played with his hair and Craig, Mike and Jared were announcers. Craig recorded it. Eric walked down the hallway and did a pose.
"And here he comes. Can he win America's heart again? Yes! He just did!" Craig exclaimed as Eric came through the hallway and posed.
Mike stated, "Eric Lambert. Women love him."
Haylee came in, wrapped her arms around him and Eric licked her cheek.
"...even men love him," Jared continued.
Aaron came in and wrapped his leg and arms around Eric. Aaron looked at the camera with a 'trying-to-be-sexy' look on his face. Eric had his arms around both of them. Eric struggled to keep a straight face, but failed. He fell to the floor, bringing Aaron and Haylee down with him, with laughter. They were laughing their heads off. I was crying from laughter as was everyone else. We soon relaxed and chilled on the couch.
"You guys are hilarious!" Aaron exclaimed.
We nodded, afraid if our mouths opened we'd laugh more. I rested my head on Craig's shoulder and closed my eyes. It was only 6:30pm and I was sleepy.
Craig whispered to me, "Do you want to go home?"
I nodded and he lifted me up from the couch.
"Aaron, do you want to spend the night at my place? You can if you want," I offered Aaron.
"No, it's fine. I'll get a ride home with someone else," he assured.
I smiled and hugged him. We got into Craig's gorgeous Denali and drove to my house. We sat on the couch and I put on my favorite band, Papa Roach. I played the album "Getting Away With Murder" and I just sat there in Craig's arms. Then a question popped into my mind.
"Craig," I questioned, "will your parents mind if you stay tonight?"
"I doubt it..." he sighed.
"Why?" I inquired.
"My parents actually don't want anything to do with me right now...they believed the whole 'Satanic' thing my last school made up. Now they think I've lied to them about everything. My beliefs, my grades, my health...they think I'm troubled or something. I can't believe they did that. Now they don't want me going to church with them. They say I'll fill God's house with demons. They don't understand..."
He looked down and I kissed his cheek.
I assured him, "I understand, Craig."
His face lit up, "Will you go to church with me so I can try to prove to them that I haven't been lying?"
I nodded, "I'll do anything for you, Craig."
He kissed my lips gently and slowly pulled away. His face was an inch away from mine and his eyes were locked on mine. I went in for another kiss. He kissed me once, then we relaxed on the couch and slowly fell asleep.
He cried, "He loved me...I loved him. He made a promise...forever. Why?!?"
I sobbed as he spoke of his love for Tobi, "I know you loved him. He loved you during his mortal life, and will love you during his time as an angel. You and I both know that's what he is...an angel."
