The Other Side of the Door

"Lily, please, just pick up. Please," he pleaded. Lily couldn't stand it. It was heartbreaking. She picked up the receiver, then slammed it down hard, disconnecting him. She looked up, inhaling sharply. Somehow, a couple of crystal tears slipped down her cheek, leaving midnight black streaks down her porcelain skin.

The memories rushed to her, all slamming into her like a brick wall. She loved Nick. And he loved her...at least, she thought he did. But now? She has no idea what to do.
