"No he doesn't. He loves the fact that he can get human blood whenever he wants it. He loves the fact that you let him."
"But you bit me too, Wolf."
"I was high."
"That's not an excuse."
"Yes it is."
"No it's not."
"Shut the fuck up Jaydee."
"Don't tell me what to do."
"I don't give a fuck. You fucking whore, I'm done with you."
"You just said you loved me."
"I lied."
He pulled out a blade.
He was going to kill me.
"You don't have to do this," I said as calmly as I could.
I watched him as he slit his own wrist.
Everything was getting covered in blood.
The walls, the furniture...
Everything was seeping blood.
I just stared at him, shocked and in disbelief.
He fell to the ground and I screamed.

"Jaydee! Jesus Christ woman."
Ryder's voice pulled me out of my nightmare.
I immediately sat up and flung my arms around him.
"Umm... I'm going to guess you had a bad dream?"
I nodded, my head buried in his shoulder.
"You were screaming."
"Sorry... Where's Wolf? I need to find Wolf."
"He's out with the rest of the guys. I just came back here to check on you.We get worried leaving you here alone at night."
"I... I need to talk to Wolf."
"Not right now. Can't it wait till morning? It's dangerous outside for you right now."
"Since when are you responsible?"
"Good point. Let's go."
I slipped on a pair of converse and grabbed a sweatjacket. Sweatpants and a cami were not enough for hell's weather.
"The guys are down by the lake," Ryder stated.
"What are they doing there?" I asked.
"Nothing really. Just hanging out and.. um... drinking.."
"Drinking what?"
"Do you really need to ask that question? We're vampires."
"Well that doesn't always mean you're drinking blood. You could be drinking beer or something."
Ryder rolled his eyes. There was an awkward silence between us as we walked down towards the lake. I could hear the guys laughter getting louder and louder, and I heard music blaring.
"Jaydeeeeee!" Wolf laughed loudly.
"Jaydee Devyn Alinoooooooo!" echoed Micah.
Jesus Christ, what were they putting in their drinks?
I turned to Ryder and whispered: "Wait. Why aren't you drunk?"
"I didn't put anything extra in my drink. Normal blood doesn't make you intoxicated."
"But youre Ryder. Youre crazy. Hyper. Loud. Annoying. Obnoxious."
"Really feeling the love here Jaydee. But honestly I'm just not in the mood to get drunk."
Do you really have to be in a mood to drink? I mean... I guess you do.. But I didn't really know because I had never drank. Or is it drunk...Drunk? Drank? Which one is it anyway?
Anyway, it felt like Ryder was hiding something.
"Hey babyyy..." said Wolf. He kissed me on the forehead and his breath reeked of blood and... something else. I nearly gagged at the smell.
"Whatcha doing here anyway babe?" he asked.
"I... I needed to talk to you."
"Abouttttt?"
"Nevermind. I'll just wait till you're... not like this."
"Baby I'm just having a little fun before school starts. Lighten up."
"Remember last time you guys 'had fun'? Ryder ended up passed out on the floor and I got bitten by a fucking vampire."
"Oh yeahhh hahaha," he laughed, "That was fun."
"I just needed to know you were still fucking alive. I'll go now."
"I'm a vampire baby. Immortallll."
I flipped him the bird.
I headed back to where Ryder was pouring himself a cup of.. blood.
"Take me back home," I demanded.
"Right now?" he asked, annoyed.
"Yes. Right now."
"Jaydee..."
"Fine, I'll walk myself."
"No. Just.. hang on. I'll take you in a second."
I sighed and sat down in the cold grass. I stared up at the sky, expecting to find stars above me. But all I found was black. Darkness. No moon, no stars, nothing. The only reason anything could be seen was because of the streetlamps that lined the roads.
I got up and wandered to the edge of the lake. I glanced in and my eye caught something moving. I leaned forward to get a better look. I felt a shove. Everything went black and I crashed into the lake. My lungs filled with water.
I was drowning.
In a lake.
In hell.
Surrounded by vampires.
Who were breaking all stereotypes.
