In the Arms of Forever

Chapter 11

At the end of the second day while the separate groups were eating breakfast Legolas stood up and marched over to sit with you. You just stared at him for a moment, and then you gave him a warm smile. The rest of the group just gave him incriminating glances and just kept on eating and talking. "What have you been up to lately?" he asked you as he shared his portion of sausage and lamas with you. "Nothing I'm so bored. I wish we could keep moving but with Arizon hurt we can't." you complained. "Hey I've been thinking you know how you healed me before?" he asked you. You could tell he had some kind of weird scheme. "Yeah why?" you asked him suspiciously. "Well I've tried to do it with Arizon and so has everyone else." he told you like you were supposed to know what that meant. "Yeah so?" you asked kind of confused. "Well I think you might be blessed with the gift of healing." he told you looking really excited. "No way that was the first time that had ever happened wouldn't I have seen signs of it earlier." you asked him. "Not necessarily," he told you, "sometimes it takes years for powers to develop enough to be used." Legolas told you. "How do you know so much about this?" you asked him as you finished up your breakfast. "For a long time I thought my fiancé had powers, she denied it but I still think she does." he told you. Every time he mentioned his fiancé it put you in a bad mood. "So what if I do have powers, I don't want to heal some one who tried to kill me?" you asked Legolas. "I don't think she tried to kill you." Legolas told you. You looked at him as if he was growing another head. "ARE YOU CRAZY!" you rose your voice slightly but not enough to catch the attention of the others. "Well, we sent her to go find you, after ten minutes I went looking for her and you. I didn't hear screaming or anything. The story you told me couldn't have happened in less than ten minutes, plus I've been sensing the presence of an evil figure following us. After you healed me his aura seemed to get stronger like he was getting closer." he whispered it so as not to frighten the others because you both knew they were listening. "Ok." you told him. "Ok what?" he asked you. "Ok I'll heal her." you said to him as you rose and walked over to where she was lying. "Ok just do the same thing you did to heal Legolas." you thought to yourself as you placed your hands over Arizon's mangled stomach. You slowly started to sing the Lullaby you sang to Legolas, "Hush-a-bye don't you cry, go to sleepy little baby, when you wake you shall have all the pretty little horses." just like last time your hands began to glow and get hotter. You could feel your energy transfer to her and you were beginning to get tired right before you knew you were going to pass out you quickly snapped your hands shut and pulled them close to yourself. You were really woozy, and dizzy. Just as you were about to fall back some one caught you, you turned around to see who it was. It was Legolas, he was smiling at you, his head was bent down towards yours. You went up on your tip toes, and kissed him.
You felt as if you were lost in that moment and drowning in his arms, which were now wrapped gently around your waist, pulling you towards him into a passionate kiss that lasted what seemed to be a life time. You started to cry, but you were still smiling. As soon as you could stand on your own Legolas knelt next to Arizon who luckily didn't see your's and Legolas' kiss. "Legolas is that really you?" she asked dazed. "Of course, are you alright?" He asked his voice dripping with sweetness. "Yeah I think so." Arizon said as she slowly sat up. "What happened?" Gimli asked her quickly. "I don't know, Idril is Idril ok?" Arizon asked as she started to panic. "Yeah she's fine why wouldn't she be?" Aragon asked with concern in his voice. "I went to go find her and I saw her unconscious on the ground, a shadow looming over her as if it was..." Arizon was over come with sobs. "Was what, I know it's hard but you have to tell us everything." Gandalf told her. "As if it were going to eat her. I ran at it with my sword drawn, but when it looked up it looked exactly like me I was so scared I couldn't move. It stood up, drew Idril sword and started to walk towards me, after that all goes black." Arizon sighed rubbing her head. Idril rushed over to her and embraced her in a teary hug. "Does you head hurt much?" you asked. "A little but I can manage." Arizon said trying to seem strong, but you could tell it really hurt her. "Can I try something to make it go away?" you asked her carefully not to scare her. "I guess so." Arizon told you as she lowered her hands from her temples. You started to slowly rub your hands together and looked over and smiled at Legolas. You reached up and put your hands on her temples and closed your eyes. You slowly counted to ten and opened your eyes. You moved your hands, they were still red, but you weren't as tired as you would usually get. "Wow it feels a lot better now, I mean totally gone. How did you do that?" Arizon asked you. "Legolas thinks I have a special power." you told her. "That explains the shining red light that shot from your fingers." Gimli joked. "There was light coming from my fingers, I guess I never noticed because I always have my eyes shut." you said almost chuckling.
"I think you might be a mage, Idril." Gandalf told you as you started to pack again. "A healing mage." he added. "Really wow!" you said amazed. "I could train you as our quest progresses." He offered. "Yes I would really like that, thank you Gandalf." you told him, he gave you a small nod of approval. You heaved the heavy bag you were responsible for up onto your sore shoulders. You were still a little tired from the healing you did that day. In almost a straight line you started your deep decent down the mountain. It was a straight line except for Legolas and Arizon walked together, since she was still a little weak. You were still very jealous of her, your thoughts were saying things like, 'I'm weak from healing that ungrateful girl you don't see me limping along.' As soon as you thought it you, yet again, felt guilty. You kept on walking until Aragorn came to an overhang were the group could stop and eat lunch on the frozen ground. You helped Sam gather what food you could find and make it into a filling lunch. You could tell it was filling because Mary and Pippin didn't ask for eleventh helpings.
You sat next to Legolas on one side and Arizon sat on the other side of him occasionally flipping her vivid blonde hair out of her chocolate eyes, flirtatiously with Legolas. You tried your best not to feel jealous but all of his attention seemed focused on her and you could hardly take it.
