Mind Games

The Biggest Bomb

Meadow.... Hybrid... Lightning.

Lightning.

His eyes flew open and sat straight up, breathing heavily.

What the hell was that?

"You shouldn't freak yourself out," a voice startled him from the side, and he got on the offensive.

When he saw a woman in her early twenties dressed casually in a white top and tight black miniskirt, looking at him with her piercing brown eyes, he felt himself relaxed a little.

"Is that your way of thanking someone who brought you back to life?" the woman tsked with a slight frown.

"Hmm," Damon purposely dragged the word as he got out of the bed he was in. "I don't do thanks."

He noticed he was shirtless, so he walked over to a chair and grabbed a black shirt that was on it. Taking in the place he was in, he realized that he was in a room - his room for that matter - and he froze.

"Hang on," he dragged, still looking around the room that seems alien to him. "I'm supposed to be dead."

"You were," the lady said, walking towards him with a seductive smile.

"How?" Damon didn't flinch nor did he back away from her, his eyes gazing deep into hers.

"Let's just say, I'm a seasoned witch," she purred as she rested her palm on his chest.

He took a step back, holding his arms out to create space between them with a smile. Then he shook his head.

"What day is it?"

"April 4th. It's a Wednesday," she started towards him again and this time, he used his vampire speed to run across the other side of the room.

"Since you brought me back to life, I guess I should be grateful to you. So, I am asking you as nicely and politely as I can to leave my house," Damon paused when he saw the fury in her eyes.

"Don't screw with me Damon Salvatore," she snarled in anger, her facial expression starts to change.

What the hell, Damon thought in confusion.

"I gave you your life and I can take it back," she warned, this time baring her fangs to him.

"I thought you said you are a witch?" Damon faked his laugh, though his eyes showed no signs of amusement.

"One of the many things I am," she responded, her facial expression not changing as she started towards him again.

They both stared at each other for a moment. That was when he felt light-headed.

"This doesn't have to mean anything," she was in front of him in an instant and she slipped her hand underneath his shirt to touch his body.

He told his mind to step away from her, but his body did not move a muscle.

"Who are you?" Damon questioned, realizing that he was under her compulsion.

"Kathralyn Howards," she whispered and leaned in for the kiss.

Nessie got out of bed with a huge smile on her face. This was the day she has been waiting for.

The day Jacob's plane touches down in the city.

As she skips down the stairs, she realized that both her parents are already downstairs waiting for her with huge smiles on their faces.

Edward saw her excitement so he couldn't help but to feel glad about it.

For a week, his daughter had been keeping to herself - he was almost worried that she remembered something.

Nessie's phone rang as soon as she stood near her parents. She looked at the caller ID and noticed that Wynter is calling her.

Instead, she ignored the call and placed her cellphone into the pocket of her jeans.

"Who called?" her mother asked her with curiosity.

"Just some friend from school," Nessie replied with a sigh.

Wynter and her friends have been trying to get her to go out with them but time and again, she refused their offer.

She cannot let them get close to her - it's just not the way things should be.

"I'll get the car," her mother said out of the blue and went out of the house first.

When Nessie saw the look on her father's face, she knew he was about to tell her something.

"Nessie," Edward said with a pained look on his face. "Being in a new place, it doesn't matter if you made friends with the people here.

"Just as long as our family secret is safe, you can make as many friends as you like. I know how lonely it can get, so I understand," he paused and looked at his daughter's face for some acknowlegement.

Nessie didn't say anything. She nodded her head, though deep down, she had so many disagreement to his 'speech'.

:::

They were standing at the arrival hall waiting for the passengers of Flight 484 to come out. The plane has already landed, though none of the passengers have been spotted yet.

Someone was playing the guitar and was singing by the chairs. Another man was standing right beside them with a bouquet of roses.

What a hopeless romantic, Nessie thought and felt her father's eyes on her.

People around them could not help but to pause and stare occassionally - probably because they looked somewhat different from the people around here.

If only they knew, Nessie thought about their family's inside joke.

"They're coming," her father said under his breath only vampires within a three feet radius could hear.

Her heart thumped wildly as she tried to keep a look-out for her imprinted other. Slowly, people started to come out from the arrival hall to greet friends and families on the other side - the side where Nessie and her parents are now.

No one with a built body had been spotted yet.

As crowds begin to disappear, she started to wonder if Jacob was even on the plane to London.

Just as she was about to feel sad, she spotted his black spiked up hair walking towards them. Her smile started to fade when she saw the grim look on his face.

He didn't look happy - or excited to be meeting her.

He was only carrying a bagpack and a luggage as he went out to greet them. He hugged Bella for a moment and had a weird look on his face before he shook Edward's hand with respect.

When he turned to Nessie, he looked at her with a solemn look. The guy with the guitar started walking towards them singing Best In Me by Blue.

"For the moment I met you I just knew you'd be mine.
You touched my hand and I knew that this was going to be our time.
I don't ever want to lose this feeling.
I don't want to spend a moment apart.

'Cuz you bring out the best in me,
like no one else can do.
That's why I'm by your side,
and that's why I love you."

Nessie suddenly wished that the person would go somewhere else to sing. But at that precise moment, the person stopped right next to her and continued singing with a smile.

She saw her parents backed away from them so she couldn't help but to frown a little.

"Nessie," Jacob called out to her and when she turned, she saw him taking the bouquet from the man beside them and turned to face her.

Her eyes widened in shock as she tried to assess what was going on right now.

"I choose this song specifically for this because this is how I feel towards you," Jacob started and he handed her the bouquet of roses.

Her heart started to thump loudly - if it could jump out of her body, it would. People around decided to stop and look at them.

"Jacob," she whispered, looking around at the crowd surrounding them. "What are you doing?"

"You are my soulmate, Nessie. And I want us to be togethere forever. Whenever I'm down or angry, you always have the right words to put me back on my feet. You bring out the best in me like no one else could - "

She gasped when he dropped on one knee and took out a green box. He opened the box and she couldn't help but to tear when she saw what was in the box.

It was Jacob's grandmother's ring - who was given to her by her mother and so on.

"Renesmee Cullen, would you marry me?"
