I Never Saw It Coming

School holidays were over. I was on my way back to school. I had been away all holidays and missed my best friend Alexis. It had been all most seven weeks since the last time I saw her.

As soon as the bus came to a stop outside the school I grabbed my bag and walked over to the door and stepped out. The cold air swept past my skin and I shivered slightly. I looked around at the crowd of swarming teenagers, and tried to look for my friend. I couln't see her anywhere. I grunted in frustration and pulled out my phone. I sent Alexis a message reading
"Where are you?"
I went to put the phone back into my pocket when I felt it vibrate. It was a reply from Alexis. It said 'Behind you'.
I turned around and faced my best friend since kindergarten. Instead of finding a smiling happy Alexis I would normally find. I found the total opposite. I frowned and scanned her body. her normal blonde hair was know a dark black. Her face was covered in makeup. And she has peircings.
What happen to her? Why does she look like this? I questioned myself.
She smiled weakly at me.
"Sabre, its been a while" she said in a monotone voice.
I held back the tears back as I replied.
"Um.. yeah.. it has"
