Different Letters
Morning
When Draco woke up the nest morning he didn’t want to open his eyes. He was still happy with the dream he just had and attempted to go back to it. The boy dreamed about his lost best friend and felt as if she was just there. He felt a person besides him and wondered who the hell that could be. Was it his friends playing a joke or Pansy that slept over to annoy him? He opened his eyes to look at the person still sleeping besides him. When he saw that the black haired girl wasn't Pansy, he relaxed knowing he was still dreaming. Relieved not to be awake yet, he struck some hair from the girl's face and smiled to himself. She looked so much like his Alice and figured his subconscious was imagining how she would look four years older. He brought her fingers to his lips, kissing them just barely after caressing them for a while with his thumb. When she opened her eyes, she sat up on the bed and faced him. He observed her face, neither with a smile or mad looking. Marie-Adelaide looked at the boy in front of her. His grey eyes still remained the same yet his face matured a lot. She looked at his expression so neutral she couldn't read whenever he was happy to see her. His mouth opened a little, not enough for the girl to notice, debating if this was still a dream.
"Alice…"
Marie-Adelaide's eyes lid up at the sound of Draco's nickname. She was called Marie-Adelaide by her mother, Marie by her teachers and Addie by her friends. Only Draco Malfoy called her Alice, a cuter nickname then Addie in his opinion.
"I came to see you last night but you were sleeping."
She didn't know what else to say. The whole room was asleep. Rachelle was lying in Blaise's embrace while she found Suzanne and Isabelle sharing a bed. Presuming Laura and Celine were in the girl's room, Addie looked at her friend relieved that she could have this conversation in private.
"I didn't see you last night. When they mentioned the first day of school that some Beauxbatons students were coming to study here, you didn’t left my mind. I was scared you weren't going to show up"
"Well I'm here, aren’t I? I'm here for the rest of the year."
Draco and Alice both smiled to each other as she came towards him. He took his found best friend as she lay with him. Neither of them had to say a word, they both knew how they both missed each other. They waited together as the others woke up; in the mean time Draco gave Addie some clothes she wasn't used to wearing. Her usual suite, a baby blue color was replaced with some pants and a cloak. Draco explained the meaning of the snake as they were walking to the Grand Hall meeting a lot of faces along the way. While following Draco to their table she noticed three familiar faces and smiled sweetly.
"Hi Harry!" she exclaimed waving
Harry's two other friends came right after him, looking at Marie-Adelaide like something was wrong with her.
"What happened with the Beauxbatons uniform?" Hermione asked
"I had to change it this morning until I could get to my luggage. I told you I'd get sorted into Slytherin."
Marie Adelaide giggled just before passing saying good-bye. Draco, who had a satisfactory smirk ever since her comment, passed by Harry hitting him in the shoulder right before whispering in a threatening voice.
"Don't go near her, Potter. You understand that?"
Shortly after the duo sat down, Blaise, Rachelle and Isabelle joined them. The five were in the middle of a fiery conversation so they didn’t noticed three pair of eyes observing them.
"This must be the weirdest thing I ever saw." Harry commented
"I know what you mean. A girl except Parkinson fancying Malfoy? And his one is not that bad looking." Ron said
"I don’t think it's that way. I think it's Malfoy who fancies her." Hermione said giving her side of view. "Have you ever seen him smile?"
They all observed Malfoy and it was hard to miss the smile plastered on his face. He was so concentrated on the black haired girl besides him, it seemed like he was aware of every move she was making. From a distance it seemed like only she mattered or even existed.
"I wonder what her story is. Little princess from Beauxbatons, selected from few to study here, starts blabbing how great Malfoy is. Didn't she mention yesterday that her dad was a Death Eater?" Ron mumbled, loud enough for the two friends to hear him
"Ron, she said her dad was in Slytherin not a Death Eater! There's a difference!" Hermione scolded her red haired friend
"Ron is just bitter because he though she'd actually hang with us."
"Harry!" Ron exclaimed
While at the other table, things quieted down when they saw Madame Maxim walking their way. Addie volunteered to get up and confront her even if it wasn't the smartest move given how she was dressed. She walked to her Headmistress hoping they wouldn't get send back home on their first day.
"Marie, where were you last night? I got worried."
"I apologize. We met some girls and they invited to their common room to get to know them better. When we realized it was late we didn't know where our quarters were so we slept in their dormitory." She explained, lying
"Where are they? I can only see two boys…" She's good.
"They are still with Laura, Suzanne and Celine. Isabelle and Rachelle were okay with that they were wearing but I couldn't wear to breakfast what I wore to breakfast." The young witch added smoothly, advancing her next question.
"Change before going to class. Ask for someone to show you to the quarters."
With a victory smile on her face, she almost skipped to the table to find Draco. Later when the three other friends arrived, she got to know more Pansy as they exchanged a couple of lines before they had to leave to get ready for class. Addie assured Draco that she's see him soon enough before running of to her assigned room, excitement visible in her every movement.
