I remember as a little girl looking up at my father and asking him if monsters really exsisted.
'Don't be silly Ember. They are just made up' he had told me starring out into the woods. Happy with his answer I had walked back inside the house and found my mother holding a spoon up to my sister feeding her applesauce then remembered hearing the sound of a gun going off not once but twice. My mother had quickly stopped feeding my sister and rushed towards the window to look out. I was too short to see out the window but my mother had turned quickly and grabbed Sara from her high chair and grabbed my hand.
'Come Ember let's play a little game' my mother said leading us to the basement. I had asked her what game as she grabbed the door knob....
