Nobody Said It Would Be Easy

Dear Riley,
Now I'm confused. Just a little. What does Emmett want? I wish you were here. And why does Embry like me? My life has taken such a confusing turn.

I followed Emmett around a hallway and towards an open door.
"Emmett what do you need?" I asked as I realized Alice, and Edward were already in there. "What's going on...." I wondered sitting on the bed next to Edward.
Jacob, Embry, and Quil walked in. "Alright, what's up?" Embry asked.
"They're coming soon. Like now." Alice said sitting next to me.
"Who?" I asked as Jasper and Carlisle came in.
"The newborns." Edward answered.
"And Riley?" I wondered.
"And Riley." Jasper confirmed nodding. I shifted on my seat unfortably.
"So what?" Jacob asked. "What do we have to do with it?"
"Well, we've gone threw the plan again. And even though Bella is totally against it, we're going to need the were wolves help." Carlisle informed.
"To kill my boyfriend?" I asked.
They all looked at me uncomfortably. "It depends on how you look at it." Edward mumbled.
"Well, that's the only way I can see it. What's the other way to look at it, Edward?" I snapped, suddenly very upset with the situation.
"Maybe he's dying for a good cause." Edward said calmly.
"Yeah but maybe I don't care what cause it's for. Maybe I want my boyfriend to live. Maybe I love him, maybe, maybe..." I ranted. I looked around at everyone who was looking at my sypathically.
"Well, Mellana, maybe he doesn't love you back." Edward seethed. A small gasp excaped Alice's mouth, followed by Jacob, Embry, and Emmett who looked beyond peeved now.
"Wow. You know what Jasper told me? He said I could always come to you guys. He said that, but I know it's not true. I know now that all you cared about was keeping me away from Riley and then killing him. You never liked me, you used me practically. I hate my life." I hesitated. "Oh yeah," I said standing up and wiping tears from my eyes. "Riley was right, he's not the bad guy." I glowed in Edward's direction. "You are." And then I turned around and started leaving.
"Mell!" I heard Emmett call behind me.
"Mellana!" A voice that sounded like Embry called.
"Look." I said as we made it out side. Emmett looked down at me and Embry looked at me too. "Emmett I know you are a freakin awesome dude, I barely know you Embry and I know your awesome. I'm sorry guys, but Edward went to far. I can't take it anymore if your going to kill my boyfriend." I said, crying more.
"Mell..." Emmett started walking towards me. Followed my Embry.
"No, Emmett, I'm sorry I just can't....I just can't...." I said, stumbling as I backed up. Emmett caught me.
"So your just going to leave?" He asked, holding my small arm, his whole hand wrapped around it, fingers almost over laping.
I shook my head. "I'm sorry."
"But Mellana, we can still be best buddies right?" He asked, looking me in the yes.
I stood there for a minute. "I don't know anymore." I sighed. "Embry can you take me home?" I asked looking over Emmett's shoulder.
"Sure." He smiled starting off towards the woods.
"Bye Emmett." I said grimly smiling.
"Bye Mell." He grinned locking me in a tight hug. I hugged him back and let go turning around to find Embry and go home.
I climbed on the lean gray wolf and closed my eye resting between his ears quietly. It felt like I was actually leaving Emmett like we were dating or something. Maybe it was just because we had grown so close, like a brother and sister. I let my tears fall into Embry's coat but I didn't say anything.
He dropped on the ground behind the house. I sighed and slid off, he lifted his head and looked at me with his big brown eyes. I smiled and hugged his big head.
"Thank you." I said trying to pull a small smile on my lips, then I kissed his cold wet nose and turned around to walk inside. I watched his figure turn as I entered the house, he glanced over his shoulder and threw back his head, letting out a small howl.
"I'm sorry." I whispered going back inside.
