Trials of Emersten
When the Others first arrived in Emersten, the townspeople willingly accepted these new individuals, who offered a fresh way to make life in Emersten easier and more rewarding. Now, ten years had past since the first of these Others came to town, the people of Emersten, angrier, more resentful, and, some would say, wiser with the years, find it hard to accept any new individuals who may or may not seek residence in their community.
When Cassie Roberts and her family move following her mother's death, all she wanted was for a sense of normalcy to reenter her life , but Emersten had other plans for her.
