Emily and Sierra and their Many Worlds of Terror

Pit Stop

Sierra and Emily were jamming out to the radio when Emily happened to notice the gas meter was twitching towards the E.

She frowned and glanced over to Sierra, “I think we might need to raid a gas station.”

Sierra stopped dancing in her seat, which looked more like twitching than dancing, glanced at the gas meter, and sighed.

“Dumb old lady didn’t bother to fill up her car?” Sierra complained, “I guess we can, but right now we’re ahead of the police. If we stop I’m pretty sure we’ll just get caught faster.”

Sierra seemed to be against Emily’s idea, but Emily knew a way to get Sierra to comply with her idea, “But you’ve got that fake mustache! They’ll never recognize you with that!”

Sierra started to consider the idea. She flipped down her sun visor to check in the mirror. Her mustache seemed to be in place, but Sierra still looked somewhat like a girl.

“Hey, maybe this hat would work?” Emily suggested as she pulled out a ball cap that had some football team logo on it that neither girl recognized.

Sierra snatched it from Emily’s grasp and put it on her head to see if it fit. It was a little big, but Sierra figured it would be since the old lady who owned it had a big fat head. Sierra pulled the hair ties out of her hair and then tied her hair up into a bun so it was on top of her head. Then she maneuvered the cap upon her head without messing up her bun. Finally, she adjusted it so the bill of the hat would hide her eyes.

“There! Now, to the gas station we go,” Sierra announced happily to Emily, while checking out her disguise in the visor mirror.

Emily glanced at her, smiled, and cheered, “Yes!”

She pulled in beside the gas pump and Sierra got out of the jumping with excitement.

“Can I get some candy?” Sierra asked Emily, sounding childish.

“Of course you can! I was going to anyways, but now since you’re going in you can get it.” Emily said and then told Sierra what kind of snacks to get for her.

Sierra, though she was not the sharpest tool in the shed, knew to lower her voice when she asked, “Should I buy the snacks or steal them?”

“Well, unless you have money on you, you’re going to have to steal them,” Emily explained to her companion, “Be careful though! They might have a bounty on us and if they do, the clerks might be aware of you.”

Sierra nodded and ran into the store.

As she looked at the candies and other snack food items, she repeated Emily’s list of things she wanted, grabbing things that were on the said list. Sierra grabbed some things and ran out the door. She was surprised that the store didn’t have those alarms that went off before you even passed through the doors.

By the time Sierra was out of the store, Emily was outside in the car waiting for her. Sierra jumped in the car as the clerks ran through the doors and stared at the girls like they were insane.

The clerks heard a girl yell, “Drive!” and heard a shift in gears. The car peeled out of the parking lot with loud screeches and shouts of victory from the girls.

One clerk called the police on his cell phone while the other one stared in awe.

The last thing both clerks heard from one of the girls was a faint, “Ha-ha, suckers!” and then all they heard was the faint rumble from the car’s engine as it sped down the road.
