Dove and Grenade

I never expected to find love where it had been all along. They say to look where you least expect it, but for me that meant searching away from my home and the people I knew. I'd made a promise to myself long ago: I will not date my brother's friends. This time, though, I couldn't help it.

His name is Matt, but he is better known as Da Kurlzz. According to the rest of them, we'd been gaga for each other for quite some time. Problem is, I didn't want to search close to home. So, I fell for asshole after asshole until the only thing left to do was sit at home and mope. But Matt would have none of it.

My best friend, Meredith, had gone and got herself hitched to Dillon Alvarez- Funny Man, to those unfamiliar with him. They'd had a storybook ending, and I only hoped I could have half of what they had.

And maybe I could, if I wasn't such a selfish bitch. Maybe I could have the love they have if I let it happen. And maybe...

Maybe there was still time.
