Forbidden Love

Zachary looks up when we walk in his room.

“So what did you want to talk about?” He says.

I see Mike growl, “Listen here you I want some answers.”

Zachary gulps, “Okay ask away.”

"Did you really kill Felicia’s dad?”

Zachary’s eyes widen, “That was her dad?”

I nod, “You didn’t kill him did you?”

I see Zachary look guilty.

“I didn’t but I stuck him in the basement and tied him up. I thought Felicia might want to interrogate him.”

I let out a deep breath. “You live for now,” Mike says.

Zachary laughs nervously, “Would you like to see him?”

Mike and I nod. Zachary walks out of his room and says to follow him. We follow behind Zachary, the silence between the three of us growing.

When we make it to the basement I see my dad in a corner tied to a pole. I run up to him and say, “Daddy! Are you okay?”

My dad looks up at me and says, “Who are you?”

I feel something break then. True I can’t remember him but shouldn’t he at least remember his daughter?

“Dad you’re joking right?”

My dad snorts, “Get away from me filth.”

I start to feel my heart break then. Zachary and Mike come up to me then.

“What’s wrong Felicia?” Mike asks.

“My dad doesn’t remember me,” I say.

Zachary gives me an odd look then, “Could he be under a spell?”

“What?” I say.

“What are you talking about?” Mike says.

We urge Zachary to explain. “I think your dad might be under a spell. That would explain why he was trying to kill you.”

I gulp, the words sound wrong. Suddenly my dad’s eyes start to glow a golden color. His voice comes out sounding wrong and too squeaky.

“Mistress Elena will come after you Felicia. She wants your heart.”

The voice stops then and my dad’s head falls down.

“What was that about?” I ask, scared.

Zachary shakes his head, “I have no idea.”

“What did he mean he wanted Felicia’s heart?” Mike says.

Zachary looks scared, “I’m not sure but I know that we must protect Felicia.”
