You Know Something's Not Right When the Good Girl has been to Hell

Chapter Eighteen: The Prophecy

*Ten Months Later*

Lizzy’s screams echoed throughout the entire castle but there was only a select few there to hear.
Ash’s face was strained with the pain of hearing his wife in pain, and knowing that he caused it.
“Damn me!” He cursed, punching a hole through the cement wall.
Xavier sat there, calm.
He knew that Lizzy would be alright, she is strong.
Lizzy’s screams stopped.
The air was tense as everyone waited expectantly.
A sharp infant’s cry rang through the air and everyone visibly relaxed.
It was over.
Or so they thought.
Lizzy screamed once more, her scream cutting through the tension-thickened air.
Several moments passed and another infant’s wail joined in with that of it’s sibling, serenading.
The nurse came out of the room, holding a squirming infant in each arm.
The oracle stepped forward to speak her wise words.

“The firstborn, the heir, will be the greatest leader ever known ,but not of his own. What will make him great will be his mate, who will stand at his side through the midst of battles. Together, they will be the greatest duo ever known, daring all that stand in their way.”

She turned toward the other infant who looked up at her with passive eyes.

“Oh, little one, you will be just as great as your older brother. You will spread kindness to all, selflessness your biggest virtue. You are a warrior of a different type, you fight with your mind and the kindness you spread. You will surely change all you know for the better, mayhap even myself. You, my fierce little one, will have a mate just as strong physically as you are mentally ,but what makes you perfect for each other is that you will fix him when he never even knew he was broken. In kindness is your strength, child.”

As the oracle murmured her last words, she faded.
But not before she left a little gift.
A necklace hung about each of the infants necks.
Each bearing the name that the oracle had chosen.
On the neck of the boy hung in red word, Echo.
About the infant girl’s neck hung the word, Sapphire.
