Carter Hansett, a striking handsome man, becomes Willowbrooke High School's new football coach after the team loses the first time in 10 years and their former coach retires. She pins strange occurences happening all over town and new people all of a sudden moving in. Noticing weird things about Hansett, she has to dig deeper than reality to see just what he's doing here as well as the others.

Not once does it occur to her that she has a striking resemblence to Hansett's former wife, Emmeline Hansett, who died 130 years ago from infuenza. She has to consider the possiblity he won't give up so she must give in, but maybe someone else can help her. Someone who knows exactly what's happening and just why Hansett won't stop.
