Unexpected

Cat’s POV
I awoke in the morning to my house elves and sister bouncing on my bed.
“Whoever gave you skittles is on my hit list.” I mumbled and rolled
over.
“Then Draco is FINALLY on your hit list.” She declared as she sat on my
back and started to poke me.
“Go away Mollie, I was up late working hard last night.”
“BUT IT’S CHRISTMAS!” I opened one eye and glared at her. I glanced at
my clock and glared even more.
“And it will still be Christmas NOT AT FIVE AM!! Now let me sleep
skittle brain we have a ball tonight!”
“Fine you meanie pants. Tu eras una antipatica pantalones!” she stuck
her tongue out and bounced out of my room Daisy watching her lazily as
she went. I glared at Prince and Rosewood and the left sheepishly. I
lay back down and drifted off.

“Cat, Mollie sent me to find you and ask if I was still on your hit list and if
you were ready for it to be Christmas yet.” I opened one eye and looked
at Draco, then my clock. 8 am.
“Fine I suppose. You can tell her she can stop hiding behind the door
to the stairs.” He smiled and sat down on my bed as she came around the
corner a smile on her face.
“YAY YOU LIKE CHRISTMAS NOW!”
“Mollie I never hated it, just the hour your sunny self decided to wake
me up.”
“Oh. By the way, thank you for my gifts I love them all, each and every
skittle, and my skittle socks, and skittle jacket, and my…”
“I get it, you love your new skittles outfit, leggings, shirt, skirt,
jacket, jewelry, and socks.” She smiled and nodded her head so hard she
fell off my bed.
“I enjoy mine as well, thank you.”
“No problem.”
“OPEN YOURS NOW!!” Mollie demanded so I crawled to the foot of my bed
where my pile was.
“Was yours this size too?”
“Yeah, I got presents from all our friends, mommy, daddy, grandma
Ashling, Draco, and even a bunch of other people I don’t know but Iggy
told me they were all safe. Iggy says that because we are the
princesses of the wizarding world we should start to expect gifts on
our birthday and Christmas and any other time just randomly."
rolled my eyes and started to unwrap my gifts. I got a sapphire crystal
jewelry set from Grammy that looked like Mollie’s sun set she was now
wearing with her skittles outfit. Instead of a sun in her cartilage
piercing she had in a yellow skittle though and she was wearing both
necklaces and bracelets. My set had a belly ring that dangled down
almost to my pants if I was wearing it. I put it in and giggled a bit
because the dangle tickled. I opened the one from mom and dad next.
Inside was a HUGE book of elemental water magic. I opened the other one
from them and saw a huge book of elemental air magic. Thank you mom and
dad. I picked up Draco’s and opened it. Inside was a jewelry box like
the one I got my shooting stars in from him. I opened it and saw the
same kind of note and a patch of dirt. I took it to the window and
concentrated on bring it water to my hand. Once I had some I released
it and it all of it fell onto the soil. Instantly a flowering vine
appeared and started to grow down the side of the tower like it had
been there for years instead of seconds. Once it was done growing up to
the roof and down the wall outside and up the ceiling inside small
silver star shaped flowers grew as did midnight blue moon shaped leaves.
“It’s beautiful Draco. I didn’t know you were so good with Herbology
though.”
“I’m not but I’m excellent at Charms so I charmed a regular vine into
this new breed like I did the last time I gave you flowers.” I hugged
him then opened the one from Mollie. She gave me the cat and panda
fuzzy, eared hats I’d been ogling at Hot Topic all summer and a bush
clip on cat’s tail. I laughed and put on my cat hat and cat tail
slipping my hands into the built in hand warmers on the long ear flaps
of the hat. They were made to look like paws when you had the hat on
and your hands in the pockets of the ear flaps. The panda was made the
same way.
“Too adorable Cat.” Mollie giggled.
“Thank you Mollz!” I hugged her and went back to opening my gifts.
Harry and all the Weasley’s got me chocolate. Mrs. Weasley had made me
a sweater, midnight blue with a silver “C” to match Mollie’s yellow
with a red “M” she had on over the skittle shirt and under the skittle
hoodie. Hermione sent me another book on moon legend as well as one on
Greek mythology. Once I had all the gifts from people I knew open I
started on ones from people I didn’t know. Mostly sweets, flowers, and
gowns for parties. When I was done we all left my room after I put
jeans on in the bathroom and pulled my new Weasley sweater over my blue
tank. My cat tail swung as I walked and I turned so it smacked Mollie
in the butt.
“OUCH!” she complained rubbing her butt.
“What?”
“You hit me with your darn tail.” I shrugged and walked into the dining
room where breakfast was already waiting on us. I sat in my place and
dug in finishing quickly. I then dashed up to my room to start getting
ready for the ball. Mollie and I had decided to wear costumes that were
opposite who we really were and to further confuse people we were going
to don a blond wig for her and a red wig for me. I bathed and shaved
and then Rosewood spent three hours massaging creams, oils, and
moisturizers into my skin. When she was done she brushed out my hair
and smoother potions and oils into it to keep it from being damaged
under the wig. She then wrapped it tightly and neatly, flat against my
head. Once done with that she did my makeup and put my mask on. I
slipped on my fiery sun fairy dress and Rose put the wig on attaching
it with magic. She then attached the wings to my back with magic while
Prince laced up my knee high fire heeled boots. When I was finally
ready it was fifteen minutes before the start of the ball. There was a
knock on my door and Mollie walked in.
She had on a blond wig with a watery moon fairy dress and wings. She
had on a pair of heels that looked like they were made of pure water
with a mask that looked like the phases of the moon. My mask looked
like a phoenix taking flight. I smiled at her.
“You look good Cat.” She commented with a smirk.
“You do too.” I smirked right back. We left my room and walked down the
stairs together to the grand entrance. We looked around at all the
people and smiled. This was going to be a VERY fun night. I winked at
Mollie and she smiled back and skipped off to find Draco while I
wandered off to find whoever she had invited. I had no idea if it was
George or Neville or both. I sighed as I wandered off around mingling
with some people.
