After You

Another two months went by. It was finally December. I was really pissed off that we didn't get to go home for Christmas or anything. My mother had been sending me daily emails and weekly letters to check on my progress and to make sure I wasn't doing anything stupid.

On the first Saturday in December, Headmaster Wilkins gave an announcement.
"Listen up everybody! The first Parent Visiting Day is next Sunday. To prepare, we need the following people from each grade to help out and get ready during extra community service after dinner. The list will be posted on the doors of the buildings and inside every building so you can check if you're not sure." I went to check the list to make sure I wasn't on it:

I was saddened to find out that I was indeed on the list with Stephanie, Nick, Mia, Adam's brother, and Gwen all at the same time. It was a terribly dark day for me. I didn't want to help prepare for the coming of my mother. I didn't want to be on the welcoming committee. It was a terrible job for the most terrible people.
