An Address Book Romance

A Drunken Confession and Some Anxiety

Grace let out an exhausted huff as she pulled an intoxicated Tre into the elevator behind her ignoring the curious glances that Tre and she were getting from the hotels late night staff. As soon as the elevator doors shut Tre practically fell against her hunched over with his face landing against her cleavage.

She rolled her eyes as he did this, leave it to Tre to manage to cop a feel even when he was drunk. He mumbled something intelligible against her cleavage causing her to let out a sigh. “What? I can't understand you hon.”

He mumbled again until she finally managed to get him to pull his head away from her. “I don't fe...feel so good.”

“That doesn't surprise me. You drank enough to make a racehorse pass out.” She pointed out as he let out a whine and buried his head back against her cleavage.

She somehow managed to drag her drunk boyfriend to their suite as soon as the elevator doors opened up at their floor. Getting him to their room wasn't an easy task considering he was leaning against her using her body for support. As soon as they entered the suite she shut the door behind them and ushered Tre over to their bed.

He fell back into the bed huffing as she began to slide his shoes off before beginning to work on sliding his black and white striped socks off.

“The room is....it's really spinning. Make it stop Gracie.” Tre grumbled attempting to sit up in bed failing only a couple of times before he managed to sit all the way up.

She rolled her eyes as Tre's left hand reached out and grabbed onto one of her breasts before speaking up. “I like these...their big. A perfect handful...two handfuls.”

She shook her head as she spoke up sarcastically. “Why thank you Tre. I've always wanted to hear a man tell me that.”

He gave her a goofy half grin apparently unaware of her sarcastic tone of voice. He spoke up again still refusing to remove his hand from her breast. “I wanna......I.” He paused for a moment snickering before he spoke up finishing his sentence. “Lets have sex...I wan...I want you.”

“I don't think so cookie. You're way too out of it to even attempt to do anything even slightly sexual with me.” She stated causing him to let out a frustrated huff.

“What? No fair.....You're not being nice to me.” He pouted as he began to sway slightly. She could tell that he probably wouldn't be sitting up much longer before he finally passed out.

He could usually hold his alcohol pretty well but unfortunately for him he had really overdone it this time. They had gone to an after party after the show earlier this evening and Tre had pretty much drank anything that was offered to him. Which had ended up being quite a bit.

She didn't have very much time to respond to his pouting before he began to scramble off the bed with a panicked look on his face. “I think I'm gonna be sick.”

She followed him into the bathroom not surprised that he fell to his knees right in front of the toilet right as he began to empty out the contents of his stomach.

Grace knelled down beside him doing the best she could to ignore the gross out factor of being beside someone who was puking. She reached out gently rubbing his back as he heaved over the toilet.

When Tre had finally finished she made sure to go over to the sink and get a hand towel making sure to wet it down with cool water. She knelled back down beside him gently patting the hand towel against his face.

He practically leaned his face into the hand that was patting him down with the wet towel before he reached out flushing the toilet.

“I still don't feel too good.” He mumbled frowning slightly.

She nodded her head letting out a sigh as she placed the wet towel into the sink. “Okay cookie I think it's time for you to get to bed.”

“Oh god please don't mention cookies.” Tre groaned holding onto his stomach as Grace finally got him to stand up.

She got him back into bed with very little difficulty even though he was still leaning into her. She did get him stripped down to his boxers grateful that he didn't take this to mean that they were going to have sex.
He did try to help her unbutton his shirt though which resulted in the bottom button coming unsewn from the shirt and flying off somewhere in the room.

He opened his arms as she got him underneath the comforter and sheets before turning off the bedside lamp making the room dim considering she had left the bathroom light on. “Graceful come here. I want...you here with me. Please I'll be good.”

She rolled her eyes stripping down to just her bra and her panties as she slid into bed beside him. She leaned into him not surprised as he wrapped his arms around her.

She felt her eyes beginning to grow heavy after a few long silent minutes thinking that he had more than likely passed out or fallen asleep by now.

She was surprised though as he spoke up in a soft sleepy voice. “I love you Grace. I love you so much.”

Grace laid there wide eyed for a moment unsure of what she should do or say. She took in a few deep breaths trying not to let her anxiety get the best of her.

She was almost tempted to say it back, but what if he didn't remember any of this the next morning.

He couldn't really mean anything he was saying. He was drunk. Then again didn't people tend to say exactly what they were thinking after they'd had a few drinks.

She looked up at him feeling her panic calm a little bit as soon as she realized that he had finally fallen asleep. If he wasn't completely wasted right now he would probably actually look pretty sweet. His eyes were shut tight, his hair was a mess, and his mouth was hanging slightly open.

She did her best to calm her nerves as she decided that she would just deal with his confession later. Even though her mind was reeling right now. She was way too tired and way too comfortable to worry about this right this second.

-----------------------------------

Tre pushed his sunglasses up a little higher on his face as he made his way into the hotel's restaurant the next morning. It was was too early for this and he was way too hungover for this.

He had actually spent a large portion of the morning hunched over the toilet with Grace by his side rubbing his back. The Tylenol and can of coke that she had given him this morning wasn't seeming to get rid of his hangover though.

He wasn't surprised to hear Billie Joe speak up as soon as he sat at the round table grimacing at the sight of every ones breakfast. “You look like shit.”

“Thanks.” Tre mumbled as he contemplated rather he should pick up his menu or if he should just stick to a diet of coffee this morning.

“No Grace this morning?” Brittney asked noticing that Tre was alone.

Tre shook his head sighing. “Nope. She needed to sleep in this morning. I'm sure Adie and you will probably be able to get a hold of her sometime after eleven though.”

Tre had a feeling that Grace being tired wasn't her real reason for staying up in their room this morning. He couldn't help but to fear that she was mad at him for some reason. Though she really didn't look mad. She looked more exhausted than anything and she had insisted that she really would be all right after she got some rest.

He frowned as he tried to remember anything that he had said the night before.

There had been something about sex and then something about cookies maybe. Though he wasn't too sure why he was remembering something about cookies.

He could distinctly remember pointing out that he appreciated her breasts. He knew that she wouldn't be freaking out over that though considering he often tended to point out his favorite parts of her body when they were alone together.

He was having a difficult time remember exactly what he had said to make her seem so off this morning. He widened his eyes as it finally hit him. He had told her he loved her.

He couldn't remember if she had said anything in response. He was actually pretty sure that he had fallen asleep as soon as he had worked out an 'I love you'.

Even though he had been completely wasted he knew that he had meant it. He did love her. He loved her even though she was pretty much the complete opposite of him.

She was neurotic, and liked to play things safe, and she was scared to get close to him at times, not to mention she could be a little bit moody at times.
Despite all of that, he really thought that she was really amazing though. His kids loved her, she was understanding of his lifestyle, she understood his sense of humor, and she had put up with a lot from him pretty early on in this relationship.

He knew though that he probably could have gone about telling her that he loved her in a better way. He was pretty sure telling her while he was drunk wasn't the most romantic way to go about confessing his feelings for her.

He took a sip from his coffee cup frowning as his stomach began churn apparently still upset from his night of drinking.

He knew that he would have to fix this somehow. He just wasn't exactly sure how he was supposed to fix it.

------------------------
Tre laid back trying to relax as the van swerved through traffic. They had just gotten back from an interview and he was exhausted. He actually wanted nothing more than to go back to the hotel and sleep his hangover off.

He wasn't surprised as Mike spoke up looking at Tre as though he had completely lost his mind. “You're seriously going to meet Grace's family?”

“Yeah her oldest sister invited me. So it wouldn't look too good if I didn't show up. It's not that bad, I mean I've been to Texas before when we've been on tour. I just haven't been to any of the small towns. I mean it's near the gulf coast so at least there will be a beach” Tre insisted trying to ignore the anxiety beginning to bubble down in the pit of his stomach.

It was almost hard to believe that in just one week they would be getting a week off of touring for the Thanksgiving holiday.

He could admit that the plan to meet Grace's family had made him a little uneasy. Especially since Grace had spent enough time telling him how insane her family was.

Billie spoke up shaking his head. “I'm just grateful I didn't have to meet Adie's family until our wedding day.”

Tre let out a sigh wishing that it was that simple for Grace and him. He had a feeling that her family wouldn't let him get away with something like that though.

After all he hadn't met Lisea's family until he had gotten her pregnant and they had barely tolerated him.

He had always had the feeling that Claudia's family wasn't too fond of him either even after she had gotten pregnant with Frankito.

So he wasn't exactly sure that his experiences with Grace's family would be any better especially considering Grace had told him that her family was difficult. He was just hoping that he could somehow mange to win them over.

He couldn't help but to wonder if Grace was freaking out about meeting his family. He could admit that he had no doubt in his mind that his parents and his sister probably would adore her. After all his kids already did.

“I don't know. I mean Grace has a pretty huge family. I mean she has four siblings and some of her extended family may be there. So I'm a little nervous.” Tre admitted.

“You should be fine.” Mike stated trying to reassure the anxious drummer.

“Yeah you'll be fine as long as they haven't googled you.” Billie pointed out causing Tre to pale slightly.

Grace's brother was a fan so he had to have some idea of Tre's shenanigans. He had a feeling that his meeting with her family probably wouldn't turn out too well.

-----------------

As soon as they arrived back at the hotel Tre practically ran to the elevators. It thankfully didn't take very long to make it up to his hotel suite.

He opened the door slipping his room card back into his pocket. He couldn't help but to smile as he spotted a wide awake Grace sitting up on their bed.

He could tell that she had been out since she was fully dressed. She was sitting up on their bed watching tv.

“Hey you.” She said as soon as she saw him. She turned off the television as she patted a spot beside her on the bed.

He plopped down on the bed beside her before he leaned over and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. “Hey, your feeling a little better.”

She nodded her head attempting to give him a calm smile. “Yeah I was just a little tired this morning. I did manage to get up and hang out with Adie and Brittney for a little while though.”

“So I'm sorry I kept you up all night. I'm not the quietest person when I'm drunk. I didn't mean to get that bad last night, but I had just did a really good show and I was having fun at the after party.” Tre admitted giving her a sleepy smile.

Grace shrugged her shoulders as she returned his smile. “That's okay I mean I've seen you drunk before, but last night you went a bit overboard. I think you were punished enough for it this morning though.”

“Yeah tell me about it. I just finally was able to keep something down at lunch today.” He mumbled not wanting to think about his morning spent over the toilet.

Tre couldn't help but to wonder if he should bring up the whole love situation. He quickly decided that he should probably keep his mouth shut though.

He wasn't even sure if she actually knew that he remembered almost everything he had said the night before.

He didn't have very much time to think about it since Grace locked her lips with his before pulling back and speaking up. “Get some sleep. You look exhausted.”

“Thanks. I've always dreamed of a women telling me that.” Tre joked as he kicked his shoes off and slid his pants off leaving him in only his boxers, his socks, and his shirt.

Grace rolled her eyes ignoring his sarcastic comment. She glanced over at him as he slipped under the comforter and shut his eyes.

She contemplated returning his 'I love you', but she couldn't quite work out the right words. She was pretty sure that she did love him.

She had come close to breaking down and calling Jen over this and letting her friend sort out her jumbled brain.

She wasn't quite sure what she would say if she actually did that though. It wasn't like she could just say something like : hey I'm sorry were fighting and everything but I'm freaking out.

Grace would be lying if she trying to say that she didn't miss her best friend even if she was still a little angry over everything that had happened.

She knew that she couldn't avoid Jen forever. Especially next week. Jen and she were both from the same small town so she obviously would be seeing her during the Thanksgiving holiday.

She only hoped that she could keep it together when she saw Jen again.

Grace laid down beside a sleeping Tre finally deciding that when the time was right she would say tell him that she loved him. She just wondered when the right time would come.
