Letting Love Find a Way

We sat there for awhile, on my bed, arms wrapped around each other. My heart fluttered as I watched his greens and my purples entwine.

"Frank?" I whispered.

"Mmhmm?" he mumbled back, his arms wrapped around me and his face buried in my hair.

"Frank," I said firmly as I pushed his arms off me.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't think I'm ready." I looked down at my hands, away from his penetrating gaze.

"For what Violet?"

"For us," I answered still avoiding eye contact.

I didn't want to hurt him.

To my surprise he smiled. The smile that sends tingles down my spine. I couldn't help but smile back.

"That's okay. As long as you know I love you and I know you love me," he said pulling me into another hug.

We were interrupted by mumbled whispers outside my room. A few seconds later the door opened.

"Violet, I just came to make sure you didn't-" Mikey began, stopping when he saw us staring at him.

"Kill Frank. Never mind," he added.

"What?! Frank's a ghost?!" came Bob's terrified scream as he ran into my room.

He jumped onto my bed and poked Frank.

"He feels pretty real to me," said Bob looking at Mikey.
