Ch. 16
"Man, thanksgiving break! This is our last day of school until next week," Aaron said to me as he's walking me to my class one afternoon.
"I know! I'm so excited! What are you doing for the holidays?"
He shrugs, "Going to the grandparents. What about you?"
"Just staying home. All of my grandparents are dead..."
He looked at me with this sad look, "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry..."
"It's okay. You didn't know. So? Where do your grandparents live?"
"Arkansas..."
"Arkansas? That's so far away..."
"I know...I'll miss you the whole time, Summer."
What he said right there just made my heart skip a beat and butterflies swarm around in my stomach.
"I'll miss you too..."
"Before I leave though which is tomorrow, we'll spend time together," he says.
"What did you have in mind?"
He smiles that smile and I know what's coming, "You'll see, Summer."
