Melanie, What Have You Gotten Yourself Into?

Melanie sat there for a couple seconds. Then eality kicked in.ShI ran to the desk, grabbed the phone and dialled 9-1-1. A females voice came on and said;
“9-1-1, What’s your emergency?”
“ I need, paramedics and police.”
“One moment, can you tell me your name, address and what is going on?”
“My name is Melanie and I’m at 221 Harrison Street.. It’s my best friend Alec,. He’s been shot and I need paramedics. He’s passed out. And not breathing much."
She hung up the phone and went back to Alec, looking him over and seeing how soaked in blood he was. Melanie pressed her ear to his chest. and didn’t hear a beating heart. She started CPR. 1, 2, 3. blew a lungful of air into his lungs, 1, 2, 3, more air. 1, 2, 3, air.
Melanie kept doing compressions until I heard sirens coming down the once quiet street.
